The East Hartford Housing Authority will open its Section 8 rent subsidy program waiting list on July 17, 2014. EHHA
will use a random-draw lottery to determine the 400 applications drawn and the order of each preliminary application
for the waiting list.
TO BE ACCEPTED APPLICATION MUST BE POSTMARKED BETWEEN JULY 17, 2014 AND
MIDNIGHT, AUGUST 6, 2014

400 preliminary applications drawn through Random-Draw Lottery will be sent full applications and information will be
verified prior to issuance of a Housing Choice Voucher. If you do not receive a full application by September 15,
2014, your name was not drawn in the Random-Draw Lottery and you did not make the waiting list. No other
notification will be sent.

No Hand-delivered applications will be accepted





All Preliminary applications must be mailed and postmarked no later than Midnight, August 6, 2014 – no
exceptions
Faxed or emailed preliminary applications will not be accepted – no exceptions
Incomplete preliminary applications will not be accepted – no exceptions
All preliminary applications must be signed and dated by the Head of Household or it will be treated as
incomplete
Only ONE preliminary application per household/address – no exceptions
