Registering a new user account

Registering a new user account
1. To access the self-serve portal, go to the web address smartselfservice.northyorks.gov.uk
2. The first page is the login and register page. To register a new account click the “Register”
button on the right hand side of the page

3. On the register page fill out your details.

The username you choose must be unique to you. It is
recommended to use your first and last name e.g.
johnsmith or tomjones as this is easy to remember.
The email address does not need to be unique to you
as long as you have access. You will be using your
username to login.
This will send an automated email to your
organisations portal admin where they will authorise
your accounts creation and assign the permission level
you require.
If you do not find your organisation name in this list,
please contact the SmartSolutions team using the
contact details at the beginning or end of this document.

5. After clicking the “create new account button” the user will then receive an email prompting
them to login for the first time.
6. When clicking the link the user will then be promoted to set their password

7. When clicking save the user will then be logged into the portal.
8. On first login the user may not have access to any services. After the creation of an account an
email will also be sent to the group administrator who will be prompted to approve the account
request. Once your account has been approved they will then be able to access services
though the portal.
