programme. This is divided
into 6 phases. This year we
are grouping the children
according to ability for
phonics teaching across year 1
and 2. Your child will be
placed in a phase group
appropriate to their learning
needs and will move through
each phase as they are ready.
If you would like any further
information please contact
your class teacher.
WALKING TO SCHOOL
We are introducing a new
range of awards to encourage
the children to walk to school.
We would like to achieve
every child walking at least
once a week. Each week the

children walking to school will
be awarded the Walk to
School Bear and will hold it in
class for that week. We hope
that you will help support us in
this worthwhile initiative.
