It is with honor and great pleasure to invite you once again to our tenth 2016 Liberty Taekwondo
Championship at Hinesville, Georgia. This tournament will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the
SHUMAN RECREATION CENTER, located at 800 Tupelo Trail, Hinesville, GA 31313.
Poomse and Gundo competition will start at 9:00 A.M. followed by Sparring. Door registration begins at
8:15 A.M. Cash ONLY, and ends at 11:00 AM. Gundo competition please contact Master William

We hope you will add us to your tournament calendar.
This tournament is fun, safe and exciting for everyone, regardless of skill level. We will only
accept certified checks or money orders. This year the 2016 Liberty Taekwondo Championship
will welcome players from FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, KY, VA, NY, AZ,TX, PR and Dominican
Republic. It will give competitors an opportunity to compete against top competitors under
quality conditions. We are proud to say that we expect some excellent competition.

Electronic Scoring! A limited supply will be for sale at the tournament. It is suggested that all

We are pleased to officially extend this invitation to all the Armed Forces Taekwondo family. Our goal is
to attract members of the United States Armed Forces with a national presence to help us honor the men

Any division with fewer than three competitors may be eliminated and combined with another division
closest in size and/or rank level. Any division with more than ten competitors may be divided into smaller
divisions. A change of any division is done at the discretion of the Tournament Director and/or the
Division Coordinator. All byes are at the discretion of the Tournament Director and/or the Division
Coordinator.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT:
Olympic Sparring: White uniforms in good condition.
Protective gear: chest protector, headgear, shin-instep pads, forearm pads, mouthpiece, and groin cup
(male) must be worn to compete. No eyeglasses or safety glasses of any kind will be permitted for
sparring. Failure to have the appropriate equipment when called to the ring may result in a penalty.

child, to be qualified to participate in this athletic meet. I understand that taekwondo activities involve risk and dangers of serious

Coach Requirements
Participating coaches at the Tenth Liberty Taekwondo Championship are required to
abide by TaeKwonDo's tenets which define the spirit of a good martial artist and the
atmosphere of this tournament:
Courtesy (behavior that demonstrates consideration, cooperation, and generosity)
Integrity (honesty, trustworthiness, and incorruptibility)
Perseverance (determination, commitment, faithfulness)
Self-Control (exercising restraint over one's impulses, self-discipline)
Any coaches yelling undesirable remarks, stopping matches without merit or any
misconduct on the part of the contestant or the coach will result in immediate
disqualification. The coach and his/her team will be escorted off the premises by local
law enforcement.

Equipment
Sparring competitors must supply their own protective gear. White forearm and shin/instep protectors, mouth
pieces, chest protectors and headgear are mandatory. Protective athletic cup is mandatory for male sparring
competitors. Only plastic water bottles are allowed in the arena. No eyeglasses or safety glasses of any kind will
be permitted for sparring.
Scoring
The valid points are divided as follows:
1 point for a valid attack on trunk protector (Hogu)
3 points for a valid turning kick to the trunk protector (Spinning Back Kick, Back Kick)
3 points for a valid kick to the head
4 points for a valid turning kick to the head (Spinning Back Kick or Tornado Kick)
1 point will be add for every two KYUNG-GO or one GAM-JOM from the opponent.
Additionally, for all color belt and Black Belt ages 14 and under Junior Safety Rules (No technical
point).
