League Code of Conduct To further the understanding of how this league should conduct itself we have instituted a code of conduct for all players, parents, coaches, and officials to follow. The intent is not to limit a person’s involvement, but to help define guidelines of how to conduct oneself to uphold the high standards of this league. “Baseball is something more than a game to an American boy; it is his training field for life work. Destroy his faith in its squareness and honesty and you have destroyed something more; you have planted suspicion of all things in his heart.” Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis (MLB Commissioner) Players Shall refrain from the following conduct: Use of tobacco, alcohol or any other illegal drugs. Participating in any activity that could be deemed as unlawful. Umpire abuse of any kind. Throwing of any object in a show of anger or disgust. Foul or obscene language or gestures. Harassment, verbal or physical altercations, or any other un-sportsman like conduct with other players, coaches or parents. Disrespect of coaches or managers. Shall encourage or involve themselves in the following: Display good sportsmanship and positive attitude in uniform and in street clothes. Be a contributor to BBR. By becoming a member of BBR you have decided to always give 100%, not only to teammates and the program, but to the community as well. No parent should feel that any member of BBR is unapproachable. When dealing with a challenging issue it is our belief that there is a proper manner in which these issues should be addressed, and will be addressed by our coaches, managers, or league officials. These issues will be dealt with promptly and in the best interest of all those involved. We ask that parents also observe the following requests: Remember that this is a game played by children for their enjoyment. Praise all children for competing fairly, trying hard, and displaying good sportsmanship. Take practices and games seriously making sure players are on time as scheduled. To do this is a show of respect to not only to the players, but all those involved in this program. It is imperative to keep the families of players well informed of schedules and expectations dealing with scheduling. Understanding that you are not alone in dealing with disputes. You have a strong organization to assist with resolution of problems, issues, or disputes.
