Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s been another busy week; the children enjoyed visiting The Russet School to watch their
production of ‘Cinderella’ and were a super audience. We had a craft morning yesterday
where we made lots of Christmassy items but we are still doing lots of work too!

2-D Shapes
Option
Learn the names and properties of common 2D shapes. The picture on the

next page should help this.
Symmetry
Draw each of the common 2D shapes and draw lines of symmetry. Explain

that this means one half is the reflection of the other half. You could fold

the image and have both halves match exactly. There may be more than one
line of symmetry for each shape!
Trickier Symmetry
Complete the gingerbread man by drawing the other half using reflective
symmetry. Use the squares to help you!
