player can send chat messages to the dealer and

HOW TO PLAY – THE CORE GAME
Players take their virtual seat and try to achieve a
hand that’s closer to 21 than the dealer’s hand.
The game is played with eight decks.
Hit or Stand
The dealer must ‘Hit’ (take an additional card) when
his/her hand is 16 or less. The dealer must ‘Stand’
on all hands of 17 or more (including a ‘soft 17’,
which is a total of 17 made up of an Ace counted as
11 + another card). The dealer loses the game with
a hand that exceeds 21. If a player’s final hand is
closer to 21 than the dealer’s hand, the player wins
even money on his/her initial bet.
Doubling Down
If a player’s first two cards total 9, 10 or 11 and
a third card is likely to result in a hand that beats
the dealer’s hand, the player can click/tap ‘Double
Down’. This allows a player to double their main bet
and receive just one more card.
Splitting Pairs
When a player’s first two cards are of equal value,
the player can choose to ‘Split’ them into two
separate hands. If the player splits two Aces, he/she
will receive just one additional card on each hand.
No doubling is allowed.
Insurance
If the dealer’s up card is an Ace, a player can
choose to place an additional insurance bet
that pays out if the dealer goes on to win with
Blackjack. A player clicks/taps ‘Yes’ to purchase
this ‘Insurance’ then places an additional bet equal
to half the initial Blackjack bet. The dealer then
takes a peek at his/her face-down card to check for
Blackjack. Should the dealer have Blackjack
(i.e. an Ace + 10, Jack, Queen or King), the player
wins twice the insurance bet. If the dealer does not
have Blackjack, the player loses his/her insurance
bet and the game continues.
HOW TO PLAY – PRE-DECISION
Pre-Decision is currently available to players on
desktop.
How Pre-Decision works
In a standard game of Blackjack, once the first
two cards are dealt, each player then has to wait
for all players to their right to make their betting
decisions.
PRODUCT OFFERING
Pre-Decision cuts out this waiting time by allowing
players in seats 2 to 7 to make ‘Pre-Decision’ bets. In
other words, players don’t have to wait for their turn
– they can make their initial decision to Hit, Stand,
Double Down or Split at the same time as player 1 is
asked to make his or her initial betting decision.
1. Pre-Decision is offered. The relevant graphic
icons appear by each betting spot. They denote
the four possible initial betting decisions, left to
right: Hit, Stand, Double Down, Split.
2. The players have made their Pre-Decisions. Each
player’s choice is denoted by the appropriate
graphic icon shown alongside their hand.
Reduced waiting time for players, 20% more
games per day
Pre-Decision not only makes the game faster for
players, it also enables operators to present more
games per hour and per day.
Based on average game durations we estimate
that Pre-Decision enables at least 20% more
games in any given hour or day. That means
more entertainment for players and more revenue
opportunity for operators.

re-Decision only offers betting options relevant
to each player’s hand.
I ntuitive Pre-Decision graphic icons make it easy
for players to select their decision.
I f a player has multiple seats then multiple PreDecision pop-ups are shown at the same time.

3. Pre-Decision reminder. If no Pre-Decision is
made then the player will see a large reminder.
4. Pre-Decision re-offered. Where a player has
made a Pre-Decision to Split or Double Down but
has insufficient funds for that bet, they will be reoffered the chance to Hit or Stand.

HOW TO PLAY – SIDE BETS
Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side bets are also available
to players on desktop, though not yet on tablet.
Perfect Pairs side bet
The Perfect Pairs side bet allows the player to bet
on receiving any pair (e.g. two Queens, two Aces,
two 7s etc) in the first two cards of his or her hand.
The level of payout depends on the probability
of being dealt that pair. There are three types of
winning pair combinations:

ixed pair, e.g. 6 of clubs (black) and 6 of hearts
(red)
C
oloured pair, e.g. 2 of diamonds (red) and 2 of
hearts (red)
P
erfect Pair, e.g. 2x Aces of spades.
21+3 side bet
The 21+3 side bet allows the player to bet on the
combination of three cards: the first two cards in
the player’s hand and the dealer’s up card.
Winning combinations (similar to Poker) are as
follows, with payouts depending on the probability
of the combination being dealt:

Enabling/disabling Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side
bets (operators)
Operators can configure each individual Blackjack
table with or without the Perfect Pairs and 21+3
side bets. If an operator chooses to include side
bets then these additional betting options will be
available to players on desktop by default.
LIVE BLACKJACK ON DESKTOP
On desktop PC and Mac, players who prefer a
bigger view of the live game action can enjoy
Evolution Live Blackjack to the full.
This includes the option to enjoy the additional
Blackjack side bets, which are not available in the
tablet user interface for this game.
Choose 3D View or Classic View
Players can choose their view of the game by
clicking on the Settings button in the toolbar.
3D View
In 3D View the player’s seat and designated betting
area appears directly on the live-stream video
image of the game table.
Enabling/disabling Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side
bets (players)
Where an operator has side bets enabled, side bets
will be turned on by default for players on desktop,
and players are given the option to place side bets
during the game.
Each player also has the ability to disable side bets
by clicking on the Settings button in the toolbar.
Classic View
In Classic View the live-stream video image is
smaller and players can interact with a graphical
depiction of the game table.

The user interface initially displays the best view
based on an automatic assessment of the player’s
internet connection. Players can change the camera
view by clicking on the Settings button in the
toolbar.
Multi-Game Play
With Multi-Game Play, players can even play up
to four Evolution live games simultaneously in a
single master window. While playing one game they
simply click the + symbol to join further games.
LIVE BLACKJACK ON TABLET
Evolution Live Blackjack is fully optimised so that it
can be enjoyed on the market-leading tablets** via
Wi-Fi or mobile connection.
Developed in HTML5 specifically for each device,
the user interface is perfectly adapted to take
advantage of each tablet’s capabilities. Image
quality is assured, too, as the game’s integral live
video feed plays in superb quality using HTML5
built-in native video support.
This makes for an absolutely world-class live
gaming experience on each tablet.
Game mode and layout
The Live Blackjack game can be played horizontally
or vertically. When the user moves the tablet from
horizontal to vertical orientation, the game layout
switches automatically.
3D View
A tap on the Play button starts the video stream of
the game, which on tablet is displayed in 3D View,
as shown below.
Chat
On tablet the Chat function is always available
on screen, immediately under the ‘traffic lights’.
Players simply tap the text box in this area and the
keyboard appears allowing them to type and send
messages to the dealer and other players.
