Team Warwick Performance Programme SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT CLUB LEAGUE POSITION TARGET CURRENT LEAGUE POSITION st Men’s 1 Team Women’s 1st Team Men’s 2nd Team Women’s 2nd Team Cup Competition Target BUCS Point Target Other Warwick Sport will offer Team Warwick Performance the following: Dedicated mentor support from the Warwick Sport performance team. This person will be a point of contact for any issues, challenges or performance related developmental requirements and will also manage the Warwick Sport side of this agreement alongside the Performance Sport Manager. To be actively involved in recruiting the best coaches possible. To liaise with coaches regarding the needs of the club, the training requirements and the development of the coach To attend pre agreed review meetings at the beginning of the year and then at the end of each term with a representative from the club, the SU, the coach and strength and conditioning team present Provide support to develop the athletic development of team members, this will include: o Access to strength and fitness conditioning sessions o Access to fitness testing o Access to training camps Provide preferable training times throughout the year, subject to availability Support in promoting successes and profiles of clubs/teams Contribute to the cost of coaching Where appropriate link to National Governing Bodies to offer additional support Sports physiotherapy/subsidised sessions, injury and rehab advice Provide sports related seminars and workshops (psychology, nutrition, injury prevention) Communicate effectively and regularly with all members including athletes, Warwick Sport strength and conditioning staff and sports specific coaches within the club. As well as SU Elected Officers Discounted rates on gym memberships Expectations from the club: - (please note the below is designed as a guideline for application and the specific expectations will be discussed and amended at the interview stage of the application before signing) Identify individuals who will be part of the first team training squad, ensuring that they are committed to sessions and fully understand the level of commitment which is required from them A roster of the first team training squad will be sent to the Sports Development Co-ordinator (performance) by week 3 of term 1, only in exceptional circumstances will alterations to this roster be made (i.e. 1st team players are identified mid-term). Full buy in and support from your coaches and support staff 100% commitment to fulfilling BUCS fixtures and fielding the strongest team possible in every match/game A representative from your team to attend agreed meetings at the beginning of the year and then at the end of each term with a representative from the Warwick Sport performance team, a representative from the SU, strength and conditioning coach and the Head coach of squad present. To attend workshops on best practise when preparing to train and compete with in sport that Warwick Sport put on throughout the year, 80% attendance minimum. Liaise with the Warwick Sport performance team, strength and conditioning team and head coach to put together a comprehensive training programme which meets the clubs needs Attendance to be 80% of roster at agreed training sessions. A squad roster will need to be committed and these numbers will be monitored against this. Registers will be taken at every session. Continued low attendance in agreed training will lead to a meeting with the Warwick Sport performance team and possible removal from the programme. Work with Warwick Sport and coaching staff to put together a preseason, in season and off season programme To work with Warwick Sport and coaching staff on a development plan including areas such as performance, coaching, finances, recruitment and athlete pathway Represent your club and the university in a professional manner at all times, any formally reported incidents of bad behaviour will result in removal from the programme, this will also include withdrawal of any Warwick Sport financial contributions to coaching or any other areas Be the face of sport on campus, wearing Team Warwick kit when representing the University at all times, being an ambassador for the brand Attend Open days and recruitment events when required by Warwick Sport to promote Performance Programme to potential athletes (agreed at stage 2) Respect BUC’s policies with regards to initiations and anti-social behaviour, alcohol consumption, transgender and safe guarding and welfare. For reference http://www.bucs.org.uk/page.asp?section=18783§ionTitle=BUCS+Policies To respect and appreciate members of staff and their contributions to the teams, particularly sport specific coaches and strength and conditioning coaches Communicate effectively and regularly with all members of the wider sports specific team including athletes, your coach, Warwick Sport Strength and Conditioning staff, the Warwick sport performance team Executive members to openly communicate positive and constructive feedback to the Warwick sport performance team Be an ambassador at all times for the Performance Sport programme, Warwick Sport and the University Expectations from Team Performance athletes: - (please note the below is designed as a guideline for application and the specific expectations will be discussed and amended at the interview stage of the application before signing) Perform at the highest level possible in your sport and display the commitment needed to improve and progress Respect all coaches who deliver sessions for the club, listen and work hard during the sessions Attend all sport specific training sessions and to listen, respect the coach and work hard To be punctual and have effective time management skills, prioritising studies and 1st team/squad requirements Fulfil the requirements of the Team Warwick Performance programme including attending workshops, developmental training and strength and conditioning sessions To compete for the University of Warwick at all times unless in exceptional circumstances To respect each other and all members of staff Represent your club and the University of Warwick in a professional manner at all times To limit the consumption of alcohol and substance abuse particularly prior to and during competing or agreed training sessions. Remember that one action from one individual of the club could lead to removal from the programme. Working in conjunction with strength and conditioning team to ensure a complimentary programme that is appropriate to the sport and the frequency of competitions Lead on setting agreed performance targets with the club and ensure these are also agreed by Warwick Sport performance staff. Be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of these targets whilst appreciating the demands of a student athlete To attend where possible, strength and conditioning sessions to create a positive working relationship with strength and conditioning staff and to develop sports specific strength and conditioning knowledge As a minimum communicate on a weekly basis with strength and conditioning staff to discuss squad engagement and performance To attend 1st Team matches and lead the selection process for squads for that match To be punctual and have effective time management skills, showing an appropriate level of priority to the relevant University of Warwick club whilst appreciating that the coach may have other commitments Communicate effectively and regularly with all members of the wider sports specific team including athletes, executive committee members, Warwick Sport strength and conditioning staff, and the Warwick Sport performance team To attend pre agreed review meetings at the beginning of the year and then at the end of each term with a representative from the Warwick Sport performance team, the club, the SU and strength and conditioning team present Declaration All the above regulations have been accepted by representatives from Warwick Sport, the Team Warwick Performance Club and the Club Head Coach. Please ensure that each member of the programme understands the requirements from them and that they sign appendix 1 to acknowledge their agreement. Please note that Warwick Sport reserves the right to remove any club or team from the performance programme who do not adhere to the above.
