Enthusiasm for watercolours, and a willing spirit!
Course, including aims
Clear step-by-step demonstrations and individual guidance will ensure that students
learn the basic techniques of watercolour painting e.g. pen and wash, layering, wetin-wet etc. using a variety of subjects to work from e.g. landscape, buildings,
botanical etc. We will explore colour, tone and line through a number of projects,
and by looking at contemporary and historical art we will put watercolours into
context. I will bring books to inspire and stimulate ideas and painting outside in the
