Dear Third Grade Parents and Students,
Welcome to our new 2017-18 school year at EDUPRIZE! I would like to take
this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Reading and I am both
excited and honored to be your child’s third grade teacher this year. This is my
sixth year at EDUPRIZE and my seventh year in the classroom. I am a mother of
six beautiful children and five wonderful grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy
spending time with my family, going on hikes, and going to the movies.
I am looking forward to a successful year with your child. We have many
opportunities planned to help your child learn and grow. Among our many academic
concepts covered in class we will also be studying the following cottages:
Aquarium, Desert Lab, Exploration Station, and Plant Nursery.
Our open house will be held Monday, July 24th from 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. If
you are unable to attend at this time, classrooms will open again at 6:00 p.m. to
drop off supplies and take a peek of the classroom. However, I should be in my
room most of the day. This would be a great time for you to bring in your child’s
school supplies that are included with this letter. Bringing in supplies during open
house, will make the first day of school run more smoothly. The first day of school
will be Wednesday, July 26th at 7:55 a.m. (8:00 Start time). Students need to be
on time and present the full day to be considered enrolled in EDUPRIZE.
We could not have a successful school year without your support. Parents
are an essential part of their child’s education and I am truly thrilled to work with
you this year. If you have any questions, my door is always open or you can email

The following items are supplies that your child will be using in class for the 2017-2018 school year.

2 pocket folders
1 good plastic pocket folder with prongs ( Homework binder)
2 compositions notebooks ( math and language journals)
1 inch binder (writer’s workshop)
1 pencil box (large enough to fit crayons, glue, scissors etc. Can use last years)
1 pack of crayons (twistable usually last the whole year, but not required)
1 pair of scissors (can use last year’s scissors)
1 pack glue sticks (4 pack)
1 pack #2 pencils
Headphones/earbuds
2 reams printer paper
1 pkg. Dry erase markers (Expo work the best and last the longest)
Kleenex - GIRLS
Paper towels- BOYS
