All money is due on or before the last day of registration (the Managers Meeting). 20 2. MANAGERS- You are responsible for your team including sportmanship and behavior at all times. 21. The away team needs to provide the second ball for every game. 3. We will play by SCMAF rules. 4. S.C.M.A.F. - 12' arc limit. 5. A defensive team shall consist of ten (10) players. However, a game may be played without forfeit with eight (8) rostered players and a minimum of four (4) women. Replacements must be of the same sex as the individual being replaced. 22. All team members MUST sign waivers to participate in the league. If the waiver for a player is not signed that player may not participate. 6. Batting order. A batting order may not exceed sixteen (16) players. 7. Courtesy runners are allowed. One per inning maximum. 8. No alcohol is allowed in the City Park. A team may be disqualified for alcohol consumption. 9. A game will end anytime after five (5) innings, when a team is behind twelve (12) runs, and has completed its turn at bat. It is the home team's responsibility to provide a scorekeeper for each game. 23. Players must participate in a minimum of 4 games to be eligible to participate in the playoffs. Sign-in sheets will be used to verify eligibility. It is the manager's responsibility to make sure all players are signed in prior to the game. 24. In order to avoid possible accidents, all base runners are required to slide into home plate as a play is made. Failure to slide will result in an automatic out. This is an umpire desecration call and not subject to appeal. 25. Runners going to first must step on base to right of 1st baseman. 26. 1 hr. 10 min. games from the time the umpire calls. 10. There will be no restrictions on a player as to which defensive position he or she may play. 27. 12 run mercy rule after 5 innings. 11. The age requirement for league play is eighteen (18) years of age or older. 29. All players must sign-in before first game. 12. Roster may not exceed sixteen (16) players including a playing manager -- no players will be permitted to be added after the fifth game. 28. NO APPEALS! 30. A team may add players to their league roster. All roster changes must be made (written) by 5:00 p.m. before team's fifth game. 35. If batter has 2 strikes and hits a foul ball – he/she is out. (1 to waste-3rd strike) 16. Time of game and innings. All games will be seven (7) innings or no new inning after one hour and 10 minutes of play, whichever occurs first for all games except final championship games which have no time limit. Any innings started will be completed. 34. No bats which exceed 1.2 BPF. 36. When a female is at bat, all fielders must be either on the infield or behind the outfield line. 37. If a male batter is pitched four balls and is awarded second base, then next female batter can either hit or take first base, if open. 17. Co-ed CARPINTERA SUMMER SOFTBALL LEAGUE ADDENDUM to RULES 1. NO ALCOHOL during games. Player(s) will be asked to leave game, No out will be taken. The consumption of alcohol is prohibited in public parks. 2. Games can be started with 7 team players and one Loaner Player. LOANER PLAYER = Someone from another team as long as they play catcher and when another teammate arrives, the player will replace the Loaner Player. 3. ALUMINUM BATS ONLY for the Men. ONLY Aluminum bats will be legal for the men. Each team will provide and present three (3) aluminum bats to the umpire that will be shared by both teams (men will have a total of 6 bats to choose from). Women will be able to use any bat with the ASA stamp on it. 4. 17 year-olds can play with waiver signed by LEGAL GUARDIAN and Filed with the City of Carpinteria. 5. Any ADD-ONS to your Roster must be made with Joe before the player plays, if not, game will be forfeited. 6. Only Managers may talk to umpires. Verbal Abuse will NOT be Tolerated. If you have a complaint, talk to Ann at City Hall or talk to Joe. Only an Umpire can overturn a call. Joe or Ann can't do anything about calls. 7. There are NO ROVERS allowed. 8. In order for a player to participate in play offs they must have played on the team for at least half the games. For instance if 12 games have been played they must have played in six of those games.
