Q: Issue on the strength of the plastic shell A: In view of the physical defects found in 915R, we have conducted actual tests with more than three vendors on a quality PC material to ensure that the shell will not crack. 2. Q: Issue with gaps in the pedals A: Interference exists on the surfaces, and test data is required for the correct casting size. We have identified the warpage in the mold used for the pedals and modified the plastic mold to remove the warpage. 3. Q: Issue with adjustment to the cooler’s heat-dissipating surface A: We have matched the hardware and modified the mold. 4. Q: Issue with the button translucency scheme A: Translucency of the original button was insufficient. We have replaced the transparent material and used transfer printing to achieve better translucency. 5. Q: Issue on adjusting the hardness of the waterproof gasket A: The waterproof gasket may cock at varying degrees after the battery cover has been assembled. The solution is to adjust the hardness of the waterproof gasket and increase the tightness in the battery cover’s snap joint appropriately. 5 / 14 6. Q: The front and rear decorative shells shake A: The front and rear decorative shells shake after the left and right shells have been interlocked. We have modified the mold and added a cross to increase the coherence between the shells and to secure the decorative shells better. In addition, we have modified the body by adding a fixed detent. 7. Q: The steel spring in the handle sprung back A: Misaligned springbacks will cause the Hall sensor to miscalculate. We have increased the thickness of the steel spring to increase the springback. In addition, we have verified the amount of deformation of the spring steel. 8. Q: Choosing a motor for the international version A: We are going to change the motor as the current motor has insufficient power. The new motor (including BOSH motor) needs to be tested. 9. Q: Issue with the domestic motor A: For the motor used in the domestic products, we are checking the uneven rotation speed of the motor supplied by Jinshun and will provide an eventual solution. 10. Q: Waterproof technique used for the keyboard panel A: Initial tests showed that the on/off key is not waterproof. This is a test that fails. 11. Q: The mileage test A: The mileage ranges from 13 km to 15 km. An additional battery can be purchased and assembled as required. 6 / 14 12. Q: The motor shaft slides (TBD) A: The hub motor shaft has a severe issue of sliding off, that is, 20% for Jinshun motor and 100% for the motor supplied by Bosch. Solution: For the Jinshun motor, we have checked the hardness of the shaft and nut, as well as lengthened the shaft by 2 mm (TBD). First, we tried to lengthen the nut, but there is an opening on the shaft for Bosch, hence we have remodeled the shaft. 13. Q: Issue with the handle A: There were cracks in the compressed materials when we received them; and when the surface is untreated; the handle does not spring back after being lifted. Characters for MARK 2 are too small, thus creating air pores (have sent someone to confirm with the supplier). Solution: Prepare to change the components related to the problems found for this batch during our internal testing. We will continue to develop new suppliers for the cold forging segment while preparing a backup plan for the materials. We have started to develop hot forging suppliers and are considering using an aluminum forging process instead. 14. Q: Issue with the cooling fin A: The L-shaped step of the cooling fin is too thick. After the cooling fin is assembled, a gap is formed, so it is no longer waterproof. Solution: Increase the thickness of the silica gel. 15. Q: Waterproof issue A: The waterproof gasket has been misplaced at the controller’s cooling section during installation. The battery’s waterproof gasket is not easy to install. Solution: Adjust the briquetting and dispensing. 7 / 14 16. Q: Problems with the charging port A: The charging port is difficult to assemble; the nut is thin and it falls off easily, the decorative shell wall where the charging port is located is also thin and may not withstand repeated insertion and removal of the charger. Solution: Increase the thickness of the nut. 17. Q: Issues with the pedals A: There is a gap between the pedals and the cover plate. Solution: 1. We have modified the mold for the pedals. 2. Replaced the M4*8 screw with the M4*10 screw. 18. Q: Issue with the sandpaper on the pedals A: The paper wears off quickly and can be replaced as required subsequently. II. FAQs on the Vehicle Body 19. Q: How do I calibrate the vehicle? A: 1) Lift the vehicle above the ground and keep it horizontally or vertically still. Press the power button, the ambient lights will turn red, and the vehicle will generate a sound that will last for a while. 2) Immediately press and hold the power button until the sound stops and release the button. 3) One second later, press and hold the power button again until a beep is heard. Then the ambient lights will darken from red to orange, which indicates that the vehicle has been calibrated. 8 / 14 20. Q: What if I forgot the Bluetooth password? A: 1) Start the vehicle and tilt it to the left until the alarm is triggered. 2) Press and hold the power button (release the button when the alarm has sounded 8 times). 3) Place the vehicle upright and shut it down. 4) Press the power button to start the vehicle (if the vehicle fails to start when the power button is pressed for the first time, the Bluetooth password has been cleared successfully). 21. Q: Although the speed is low during riding, the vehicle still leans backwards and the pedals tilt A: 1) The speed limit may be activated by mistake. In this mode, the speed limit is 12 km/h. 2) When the speed is higher than 18 km/h, the pedals tilt to limit the speed so as to ensure the user's safety. 3) The battery may have low power. 22. Q: How often should the tire be pumped? Where is the tire valve? What’s the typical tire pressure? A: With reference to the power button as the front, you can find the tire valve on the left to connect to an extended valve. Generally, the tire pressure should be between 35 to 40 PSI. The tire can also be pumped based on the user’s weight. Usually, the tire should be pumped once every three months. 23. Q: What is the charging duration when charging the new vehicle for the first time? A: The new vehicle should be charged for 2-3 hours for the first charging. Check the indicator status of the charger. The indicator is red during the charging process and will turn green once the vehicle is fully charged. 9 / 14 24. Q: Once the vehicle is connected to the charger for charging, the green light is on but the vehicle fails to charge. A: 1) First, check if the charger is properly connected to the vehicle. Poor connection may cause charging to fail. 2) Use another charger and see if the vehicle can be charged properly. If yes, replace the faulty charger. 25. Q: What may cause power failure in the Ninebot One? A: 1) The power failure may be triggered by excessive speeding. The power cuts off when you continue to accelerate even after the pedals begin to tilt and an alarm is triggered. In this case, power failure is caused by the user. The vehicle is working normally. 2) The power failure may be caused by sudden acceleration. Here, we briefly describe the working principles in Ninebot One. The Ninebot-One’s status is monitored by a built-in electronic gyroscope in real time. When the user leans forwards or backwards, the vehicle will immediately turn the wheel and generate a reactive force to counter-balance. When the acceleration is rapid and the user leans forward suddenly, the vehicle needs to counteract the greater force with more power. If the battery, motor, or protection panel that provides the speed-limiting functionality is unable to withstand the magnitude of the force, the vehicle may lose its balance. Currently, this is a problem that persists for all one-wheel and two-wheel vehicles of any brand. Therefore, please recall if you did indeed accelerate excessively when the power was cut off. The acceleration may not trigger a power cut immediately; however, as the vehicle is not able to bear such a force for a long time, the power will eventually be cut off. 26. Q: Speed limits A: If the battery is not an authorized model or if the communication line is not connected properly, the speed limit is 4 km/h. If the battery has less than 10% power, the speed limit is 8 km/h. If the battery has between 10% to 20% power, the speed limit is 12 km/h. 10 / 14 If the battery has between 20% and 50% power, the speed limit increases from 16 km/h to 18 km/h, that is, 16 km/h if the battery power is 21% and 18 km/h if the battery power is 50%. If the battery has more than 50% power, the speed limit is still 18 km/h. If the vehicle temperature reaches 70°C, the speed limit is 12 km/h. 27. Q: Why are there dust and slight markings that suggest the vehicle has been used even for a new vehicle? A: Each Ninebot One S2 self-balancing vehicle undergoes actual driving tests conducted by testers before it leaves the factory to make sure that it meets Ninebot’s quality standards. Therefore, there may be some grinding marks on the pedals and the joints connecting to the upright post, or you may find some slight markings on the tire and the mileage reading is not zero (1 km-3 km). Please do not worry as it is actually a new vehicle. We are simply doing our best to ensure your safety. 28. Q: What is the size of the tire? A: 14 inch*2.12516 (Hwa Fong tire; customer need not be informed about the tire manufacturer.) 29. Q: What is the model for the motor? A: Jinshun motor with rated power of 400 W and maximum power of 800 W 30. Q: When users want to upgrade the APP on the mobile phone, Bluetooth becomes unavailable after the vehicle is locked, and subsequently the vehicle cannot be paired with the mobile phone using Bluetooth A: Verify if the mobile phone version supports the APP. Re-install the APP or restart the mobile phone. 11 / 14 31. Q: What are the alarm codes for MK2? A: 1. The vehicle may be out of balance when it is powered on. The ambient lights will flash yellow and red lights, indicating an initialization issue. The combination of red and yellow lights is just an alarm code: Each red light is a 5, and each yellow light is a 1. For example, is equals to 5*5+1*3=28, alarm code 28. Description of alarms: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Exception of Hall sensor of motor Error detected in motor’s phase A current Error detected in motor’s phase B current Error detected in motor’s phase C current Not defined 7 8 9 10 11 Exception of MOS switch of driver's main power Driver program jump exception Driver program update exception Battery 1 communication exception 12 13 Gyroscope initialization error 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 Battery 1 output exception Battery 2 output exception Battery 1 temperature exception Battery 2 temperature exception Not defined Not defined Not defined Not defined Vehicle S/N error Battery 2 communication exception Calibration error 12 / 14 22 23 24 Not defined Not defined Main voltage exception 2. About the alarms: When the vehicle’s loading rate exceeds 70% of its maximum power, the buzzer will trigger an alarm. When the vehicle’s temperature has reached 70°C, the buzzer will trigger an alarm and the ambient lights will be turned on. Whenever the handle is lifted or lowered, the buzzer will beep. 3. When the vehicle is tilted at an angle of 60°, the wheel stops running, the buzzer will trigger an alarm, and the ambient lights will flash lights. If the vehicle is placed upright within 10s, the vehicle can restore its balance. 4. When the vehicle tilts forwards or backwards at an angle exceeding 20° during a sudden acceleration or deceleration when the motor power is low, the wheel stops running, the buzzer will trigger an alarm, and the ambient lights will flash red lights. In such a situation, please restart the vehicle. 32. Q: What is the battery capacity and how long can it be used for? A: The battery capacity for Ninebot One S2 is 155 Wh. For One S2, two 155 Wh batteries can be assembled. After the battery has been charged and discharged for 500 times, 80% of the battery capacity will remain. 33. Q: How long is the handle’s service life? A: The handle’s service life is being tested. The target is 10,000 times. 34. Q: During riding, vibrations occur and the tire is unstable. A: First, upgrade the APP and calibrate the vehicle manually (refer to question 19). If the problem persists, replace the controller. If the tire pressure is too high, the tire may be unstable. Usually, the tire pressure should be between 30 to 35 PSI. 13 / 14 35. Q: Who manufactures the battery and the cell? A: Scud manufactures the battery and LG manufactures the cell. 36. Q: What is the waterproof performance of the Ninebot One S2 like? Can it be cleaned with a high pressure water jet? Can it be ridden under rain, snow, hail or fog conditions? A: The vehicle can be ridden in light rainy condition. During factory tests, it can be cleaned with a water jet, however, this is not recommended as IP54 means living waterproof/rain proof rather than completely waterproof. For your own safety, do not ride the vehicle when the weather is bad. If you have to, pay special attention to road conditions and ride slowly with care. 37. Q: Why does the new vehicle beep when it is powered on? A: When you receive the new vehicle, download the official APP for Ninebot self-balancing vehicles on your phone. Start the APP and pair your mobile phone with the vehicle using Bluetooth. Just fill in the information, and activate the vehicle. 38. Q: Is it normal that the wheel rotates on its own when the vehicle is lifted? A: When the handle is not completely lifted, the wheel may rotate on its own when the vehicle is powered on and lifted up. In this case, use the APP on the mobile phone to connect to the vehicle. Click the option to calibrate the handle to re-calibrate the handle. 14 / 14
