Cinderella (Enchanted Edition)
S
et in medieval times,
rehearsals have begun
for a one-of-a-kind version of Cinderella. The director states that “there will be
audience interaction throughout the show with the characters being quirky,
mad cap, and even a tad bizarre. It will entertain
everyone from the young children to the older
adults who are still young at heart.” He also related that they had a difficult time getting through
the auditions because the group was hysterical
while reading the lines for the first time.
A special Cinderella Celebration is planned
for Sunday, Dec. 13 at noon. (See the back of this
Ad-Lib for details.)
The cast of zany characters includes: Lauren
King, Bonnie Raubenstine, April Howard, Lori
Woods, Peyton Watson, Teresa Leonard, Greg
Lauchman, Ann Watson, Joann Luckenbaugh,
Sasha Watson, Ginni Hasener, Katelyn Helwig,
Lenore O’Rourke, and Loganne Storm.
Tickets for the musical are $12. Discounts are

Hoss’s Community Night on Thursday Dec. 17. Do you like to eat? Would you like to support
the Hanover Community Players? Well, we have a way for you to enjoy both and it is so easy. Just eat a meal
at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House on Dec. 17, present an HCP Community Night card with payment, and Hoss’s will
donate 20% of your meal ticket to HCP. It is that simple. Community Night cards will be available at the theatre

Much needed improvements have taken place at The Hanover Little Theatre over the past year. We have
upgraded our electrical service, seal coated our parking lot, and purchased the beginning phase of our
new lighting system. The board members have recently cleaned out and re-organized the storage shed to
make it safer and more accessible for directors and technical staff.

Before each performance at our theatre, and most others, there
are announcements about turning off cell phones and not photographing the performance. However, we don’t often talk about
some of the other “etiquette” rules that will make you a good patron
of the arts.
While I know people turn off their cells, texting or otherwise lighting up your seat and the one next to you with your cell phone is
distracting.
Talking during a performance is certainly not forbidden. In fact,
the actors know that an audience is enjoying a show when they
can hear people commenting on the action. Long discussions about
family vacations or dinner plans for the next weekend are disturbing
to your seat mates as well as the cast on stage.
Finally, while I know everyone likes to get a good parking space,
we do not open the theatre for you to find your seat or buy tickets
until 7:30 p.m. This allows the actors the time that they need to prepare for the evening’s performance.

A
uditions for the Jerry Herman Tony-award nominee musical Mack & Mabel will be held
on Dec. 13 & 15 from 7:30–9 p.m. at the Hanover Little Theatre. This production will be
presented on our stage on March 18–21 and 25–27, 2010. Director Mark Franceschini is
looking for several men and women ages 16-66 to fill the roles for this show. Those auditioning
must bring a prepared song with music for the pianist in the correct key, wear appropriate footwear, and be prepared to dance.
Mack & Mabel is from the talented pen of Jerry Herman, who also created the musical hits,
Mame and Hello Dolly. In this musical, Herman has gone back to the era of the silent movies and the great love
between Hollywood director Mack Sennett and Mabel Normand, who became one of his biggest stars after being
discovered waitressing in Brooklyn.
A series of flashbacks shows Mack and Mabel during the glory days of Keystone Studios, when he casts her
in dozens of his early films, including Bathing Beauties and the Keystone Cops.

students and $14 for adults gets you admission
to the Celebration, tickets to the 2 p.m. matinee,
autograph book, make-it-take-it frame, pizza,
drink, plus a visit by very special guests of honor.
There will also be a Cinderella-inspired cake.
Doors will open at 11:45 a.m.
