VACANCY: SPCC 1st XI Coach
Soweto Pioneers cricket club (SPCC) promotes the playing and culture of cricket in the suburb
of Soweto and its surroundings, irrespective of race, gender, age or disability of its members.
The SPCC executive committee is considering the position of a Head Coach that will be

responsible for mainly the 1 XI, ensuring that an effective brand of cricket is synonymous
with the teams.
SPCC invites applications from a suitable player/coach or coach interested in playing/coaching

primarily the 1 XI team.
Job Description:

The incumbent will be responsible to coach the SPCC 1 XI. The initial period is from August 2017 to
the end of April 2018. This contract may be considered for an extension. Coaching sessions are twice
per week and the duration is 2 hours per session. It will be expected of the coach to attend and co ordinate all matches and/or practices.
Desirable:
➢ Qualification: Former International Cricket Player or CSA level 3 coaching qualification or
equivalent
➢ Experience: Three (3) years coaching experience of a Premier League team
➢ References: 2 contactable references
➢ Code B Drivers Licence and Own Car
Acceptable:
➢ Qualification: Former Franchise Cricket Player or CSA level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent
➢ Experience: At least Two (2) years coaching experience of a Premier League team
Applicants must have a good command of English and will mainly deal and communicate with male
players. Working in a team, interacting successfully at all levels and having the ability to work
effectively under pressure is a prerequisite.
