Wanaque School Student Council Presents Wanaque’s Annual Battle Ball Tournament Thursday, June 15, 2017 3:30-5:30 p.m. In order to raise money for Heifer International, an organization that has been fighting world
hunger and poverty for more than 75 years, the Wanaque Student Council has decided to hold
our Annual Battle Ball Tournament as a charity event.
Here are THE RULES and any other pieces of information you might need to know:

Student may play in teams of six and may bring two substitutes in case of injury.
Substitutes will not be guaranteed playing time. All players must be sixth, seventh or
eighth grade students. Team members must all wear the same color shirt the day of the
contest and must submit a team name with their permission slips.
The cost to play per team is $30.00 (About $5 per player). $25.00 of each team’s fee will
be donated to Heifer international, and $5.00 from each team’s fee will be used to help
cover tournament costs.
The balls being used are foam with a rubber coating on the outside to help prevent
injury.
The object of the game is to eliminate all opposing players by getting them “OUT”. This
may be done by:
a. Hitting an opposing player with a LIVE thrown ball below the shoulders.
b. Catching a LIVE ball thrown by your opponent before it touches the ground.
c. NO HEAD SHOTS! Intentionally aiming at another player’s head will result in a
player being eliminated from the game.
WINNING: The first team to legally eliminate all opposing players will be declared the
winner. A 3-minute time limit has been established for each contest. If neither team has
been eliminated at the end of the 3 minutes, the team with the greater number of players
remaining will be declared the winner.
The tournament will be double elimination. That means that each team is guaranteed to
play at least two games even if they lose their first. Bracketing will be determined
through the use of a random bracket creation program once all teams have submitted
their money and permission slips.
There will be no refunds as soon as your team is registered to play.
