This year Marin County Schools Volunteers celebrates 20 years of academic support for pre K-12 students in Marin County schools! We deeply appreciate your generosity and cherish your commitment to our work in the future. Thanks to your dedication to the students we serve along with support from families, educators, and community leaders, MCSV looks forward to the next 20 years helping even more students reach their full potential. To ensure we continue providing invaluable academic support to students in Marin County, we proudly announce our merger with the North Bay’s leading college success nonprofit, 10,000 Degrees effective July 1, 2017. Our mission, vision, and values are perfectly aligned with those of 10,000 Degrees -- that is, both organizations believe every student deserves the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and positively impact their communities. Formerly the Marin Education Fund, 10,000 Degrees combines personal support, academic counseling, and financial aid management to help students from low-income backgrounds in the North Bay get to and through college. Currently, 10,000 Degrees supports students in 19 area high schools, 10 community colleges, and over 50 4-year colleges and universities. From the beginning of our merger discussions, we have been guided by the notion that “1+1= 3”. Marin County School Volunteer programs matched with 10,000 Degrees proven programs will allow for the introduction of innovative options that neither organization could do on its own. That makes us very excited about our collective future and those of our students We will continue to serve students as part of a comprehensive tutoring program under the leadership of 10,000 Degrees. Later this year, in the fall, we will host school-site meetings to share with you any new information and answer any questions. With your commitment to helping all students in Marin County, we eagerly look forward to the next 20 years for Marin County Schools Volunteers. As a valued component of 10,000 Degrees overall programming, MCSV will continue to deliver the highly personalized support our students need to achieve their dreams. If you have ANY questions or concerns regarding this merger, do not hesitate to call or email our office at (415) 499-5896 or [email protected]. When our new phone, address and email is finalized, we will let you know!
