about us
Established in 1986, originally with the name of
Irvine Insurance Services, the business was founded
by two brothers, Glen and Craig Irvine. At that time,
the business provided advice on financial services,
general insurance and mortgages.
The firm grew from strength to strength, adding a
second office in Barnstaple in 1994. This was originally
in Boutport Street, but moved to Bridgewater House,
on The Square in 1998. These large prominent offices
have remained our home ever since.
With the expansion of the financial services
division in Barnstaple, the decision was taken to
relocate all staff to this office in 2010, allowing close
communication between all members of the team.

most up to date technology to ensure we provide

secure, as a result of working with us. We specialise
in investment and retirement planning whether it is
accumulating funds, making the transition from work

Irvine Financial Services Ltd realise that every
situation is different and every individual is unique.
We’ve therefore developed a range of services which
can be tailored to meet your specific needs no matter
how complex.
We will work in partnership with you and look to
develop an excellent working relationship that will
evolve over time.
Ongoing fees will depend on the type of relationship
you choose to have with us and will be discussed
and agreed with your Adviser. Of course your
circumstances may change over time and we will be
flexible in the way we work.
Rest assured that however you choose to develop
your personal service, our four key principles –

Irvine Financial Services Ltd follow a carefully designed
financial planning process so that you know exactly
what is happening at each stage of its six steps:
Ongoing service and relationship
We will arrange an introductory meeting to fully explain how
our service works, identify your primary financial needs and
objectives and answer any questions.
Your Adviser will work with you to fully understand your objectives
and develop these into well defined goals. This will involve gathering
financial information on any existing plans to enable us to provide a
comprehensive picture of your circumstances.
Once your objectives are agreed, we will discuss any key considerations
with you and assess your attitude to risk. We will then conduct the required
research and planning to consider potential benefits and potential
solutions to your objectives including the suitability of any existing plans.
We will present our recommendations to you and take you
through them stage by stage. We will set out specific and
realistic recommendations aimed to achieve your stated
objectives over an agreed time period.
Once you fully understand our recommendations and
you are happy with them, we will put these into action.
You can agree to an ongoing service from us. This allows us to review your
plans to make sure they are on track with your objectives. Our reviews
will take account of any changes to your personal circumstances, financial
market conditions and relevant legislation.

Core
Service
overview
This service will encompass one off transactions whereby a future service
would not be necessary. It will also cover investments and pensions where
limited future contact may be necessary. We will discuss the review options
with you, taking account of the size of your portfolio, your requirements and
the cost of providing the service.

£ You will have access to our Administration team
£ We will provide a valuation of your portfolio annually, where applicable.
£ We are happy for you to contact us in the future if you would like any
further advice or support.
In addition
£ We can provide a more comprehensive review including a telephone or
face to face meeting annually which may be subject to additional cost.
our charges for this service
Our annual ongoing charge for this service is 0.75% of your funds under
management with no minimum and a maximum of £1,000 per annum. If
you decide to engage us further we will discuss and agree a fee with you in
advance for the work required.

Management Service
overview
This service proposition is focused on reviewing your financial plan to
ensure it continues to meet with your goals.
what we will deliver
£ We will invite you to review your financial goals, preferably face to face
annually to ensure they remain on track.
£ We will ensure your attitude to risk profile is updated and that your
investment solutions continue to meet with your requirements.
£ You will receive a valuation of your investments and pensions once a year.
£ We will ensure all relevant details about your personal circumstances are
updated and stored securely.
£ You will have access to our Administration team. If required, they will
arrange for your Adviser to contact you.
£ If market conditions change and you are concerned about your
investments you are able to call your Adviser to discuss your investments
in more detail.
£ We will email you bi-monthly newsletters.
our charges for this service
Our annual ongoing charge for this service is 0.75% of your funds under
management with a minimum fee of £500 per annum and a maximum of
£2,000 per annum.

Management Service
overview
This is a comprehensive service proposition which covers all areas of financial
planning together with your investment, tax and estate planning needs.
This service is for clients with complex financial needs who will benefit
from a long-term relationship with their Adviser.*
what we will deliver
£ We will invite you to review your financial goals twice a year to ensure
they remain on track.
£ We will ensure your attitude to risk profile is updated and that your
investment solutions continue to meet with your requirements.
£ We will provide two valuations of your holdings each year.
£ We will ensure all relevant data about your personal circumstances are
updated and held securely.
£ Any investments that are placed in Trust at outset will be included in
the cost. If a bespoke Trust is required, we will work with you and a Trust
expert, to meet your needs. This may attract an additional charge.
£ If market conditions change and you are concerned about your
investments you are able to call your Adviser to discuss your
investments in more detail.
£ You will have direct access to your dedicated Adviser.
£ You will have access to your Adviser’s Personal Assistant or an
Administrator.
£ Depending on your personal requirements, we can work alongside
your existing professional advisers, i.e. your Solicitor and Accountant;
to ensure that we are working together to make our advice cohesive.
£ We will email you bi-monthly newsletters.

Our annual ongoing charge for this service is 0.75% of your funds under
management with a minimum fee of £1,500 per annum.

This is our most comprehensive service proposition that covers all areas of
financial planning and is aimed at clients with complex needs and solutions.*
what we will deliver
£ We will provide additional guidance and advice in any financial matter
as required.
£ We will invite you to review your financial goals. As your financial needs may
be complex, we will discuss and agree how frequently we should review your
objectives to ensure they remain on track. This will be at least twice a year but
likely to more often.
£ You are able to meet with your Adviser on an ad-hoc basis.
£ We will ensure your attitude to risk profile is updated and that your
investment solutions continue to meet with your requirements.
£ We will provide a minimum of two valuations of your holdings each year with
ad-hoc valuations upon request.
£ We will ensure all relevant data about your personal circumstances are
updated and held securely.
£ Any investments that are placed in Trust at outset will be included in the cost.
If a bespoke Trust is required, we will work with you and a Trust expert, to
meet your needs. This may attract an additional charge.
£ If market conditions change and you are concerned about your investments

Investments*
Are you getting a good return on your investments?
Unit Trusts, Investment Bonds or Individual Savings
Accounts (ISAs) can provide a flexible, tax efficient
means of saving lump sums or regular monthly
amounts.
* These investments do not include the same security
of capital which is afforded with a deposit account.
Pensions
The State will provide but only in a limited way.
Your employer may help, but what if you don’t
have a company scheme or workplace scheme?
Even if you already have existing pensions in place
with your employer or privately, will they provide
you with enough to live on when you retire?
Inheritance Tax Planning
Inheritance Tax is a Tax on your estate when you die
and is also sometimes payable on Trusts or Gifts
made during your lifetime. This includes the total
of everything you own and a share of anything you
own jointly. With a little planning you may be able to
reduce the bill or avoid Inheritance Tax altogether.
