Get involved in Home Team Heroes - npower's Football League community programme
Make your vote count and vote for your favourite project!
As part of npower’s Football League sponsorship, we have recently launched our new npower Home
Team Heroes community programme. npower and the Football League Trust aim to help young
people in Alexandra Soccer & Community home town to develop their confidence and life skills and
increase their participation in sport through three different projects.
However, it’s up to our local community to vote for their favourite project! You, your staff, pupils and
parents have up until 31 December 2010 to vote for which local project you would like us to deliver.
I have enclosed copies of our leaflets and posters that describe the three projects and the easy ways
in which you can vote by website, email and text. I would be most grateful if you could promote this
through your school and to parents so you can all place your vote and make it count. We can even let
you know which project has been successful and will be delivered in your home town.
The 3 projects to choose between are:
1) Respect
- children aged 10-11 could be attending a one-hour Respect training workshop at their school,
delivered by us, to learn important skills such as teamwork and citizenship – and to understand how
these apply to football and other areas of their life.
- You can nominate your school - the 20 schools with the most votes will receive the workshop. The
school with the highest number of votes will, as a special treat, have the training workshop at our
club/training ground.
2) Playground
- We could be revamping and cleaning up a local park to encourage children to get active and play
sport OR
- We could be identifying a few local schools and brightening up their playgrounds by laying floor
markings and running a training session for teachers.
3) Coaching
- Children aged 4-6 could be participating in a fun five week course (1 hour per week), delivered by us.
The course will help children to learn fundamental sporting skills such as agility, balance and coordination and will help to develop their social interaction and self confidence.
- The course will be delivered in 10 local schools or children could attend the course at our
club/training ground or a suitable venue.
I do hope that you are able to promote this programme and the voting opportunities through your
school before the end of term. Don’t forget to place your own vote too!
Yours sincerely
