NAFAKA Project NAFAKA – Expansion to The Southern Highland Regions (Iringa & Mbeya) 8th July, 2015 Key Activities: The main activities are aligned to Feed the Future development aspects; i) Address poverty reduction and food security ii) Promote increased income for address and reduced hunger and nutrition Engagement of private sectors and facilitate improved domestic and regional trade; iii) Support inclusion of the women and youth engagement in the value chain in the rice and maize sub-sector iv) Support rural household (vulnerable communities) engagement in the value chains to enhance nutrition and improved consumption of a quality diet. Productivity Component : Key activities; The key activities under NAFAKA Component 1 and and centered on intermediate results(IR1) are; 1. GAP demonstration plots establishment & management 2. TOT training for Village based Extension Agents: VBAAs, Agrodealers, Lead Farmers 3. Strengthening the commercial capacity of hub- Agro-dealers to manage network of VBAAs, associations as sales agents 4.
