Prepositional phrases
ENG_A2.1.0103G
Please note
Keep in mind that subjects and verbs are never
part of a prepositional phrase. A good tip to
recognize a prepositional phrase is to eliminate
it from the sentence. If it still makes sense,
you‘re good to go.
Examples:
The computer on the big brown desk is my dad‘s.
The computer is my dad‘s.

Please note
Prepositional phrases can be very short or very long.
But if you can still eliminate them without losing sense
and still having a complete sentence, then they are
prepositional phrases.
Examples:
I got a letter from James.
I got a letter from my old college friend, James.
I got a letter from James and Tina.
