Move on When Ready Program
Eligibility
Any student wanting to participate in Move On When Ready should speak with their high school counselor before
starting the application process.
 Student must attend a private or public secondary educational institution within the state of Georgia or a home
study program that has been approved by the Georgia Student Finance Commission as a MOWR participating
school
 Have a high school academic GPA of a 3.0 or higher (students can check their Hope GPA via GAfutures.org for
Hope/academic GPA).
 Have qualifying test scores:
o SAT - combined Critical Reading and Math score of a 970 with minimum 430 critical reading and 400
math to exempt learning support (must convert any score from March 2016 or after to old SAT scores
for comparision).
o ACT – composite score of 20 with minimum 17 English, 17 Math to exempt learning support.
o Compass – Reading 74, Writing, 60, Algebra 37
o Accuplacer – Reading 61, Writeplacer 4, Elementary Algebra 79
 Exempt any Learning Support Placement
 Be on track to graduate completing the 17 Required High School Curriculum (4 units English, 4 units Math, 4
units Science, 3 units Social Science, 2 units Foreign Language).
 Must obtain approval from high school counselor and parent/guardian by completing the MOWR Student
Participation Agreement – required every semester attending as MOWR student.
Steps to Get Started as MOWR Student
Start Application Process
 Meet with High School Counselor about interest in MOWR program, requirements, and advisement.
 Submit online EGSC admissions application found at www.ega.edu.
 Submit preliminary high school transcript reflecting required academic GPA of 3.0 based on the Admission’s
Office evaluation.
 Provide Lawful Presence documentation (ie. Copy of GA issued ID/driver’s license, current passport, or provide
certified copy of birth certificate).
 Provide qualifying test scores via score report for SAT, ACT, Compass, or Accuplacer. If planning to take
Compass or Accuplacer test with EGSC student must submit application, transcript and lawful presence
documentation to be seated to test.
 Submit MOWR Student Participation Agreement signed by student, parent/guardian, and approved by high
school counselor. Must have to be admitted and for each semester student attends as MOWR student.
 Complete the GAfutures MOWR Application with guidance counselor and parent/guardian and submit. The
GAfutures MOWR Application is how MOWR classes are paid for and must be submitted each semester a
student participates in the MOWR program.
Applied for Admission – Now What?





Check your status online to see acceptance and receive acceptance information via email/mail.
Once accepted the next step is to set up appointment for advisement/registration with the MOWR Coordinator.
Register and attend one of our orientation sessions.
