Regulatory Alert: Argentina – Change in Customs Rules for Small Personal Shipments August 16, 2016 On July 27, 2016 the Argentine Tax Authority enacted a resolution, effective August 25, 2016, which provides for a new procedure that allows an individual or company to receive the following without formal clearance: 5 personal (non-commercial) yearly shipments with a limit of 50 Kilograms (110 LBS) and a limit of $1000 USD Limit of 3 of any one commodity per shipment The customer should be advised that the following should appear on the Air Waybill: The statement in Spanish- “Régimen de pequeños envíos” (meaning “Small Package Regime”) CUIT/CUIL (CUIT- Tax ID of a company or CUIL – Tax ID of an individual) Nombre Completo- Full Name Note: shipments must have the CUIT/CUIL (Tax ID) available or they may not be able to clear customs under the resolution. If the CUIT/CUIL is not available to the shipper then they must provide a telephone number and email address for the recipient so that we can contact them for the information. This may cause delays in clearance.
