Beltsville Adelphi Boys and Girls Club Football Program Dear Parents and Players, Welcome to the Beltsville Adelphi Boys and Girl Club Football Program. We hope that this year’s flag football season is full of wins, good sportsmanship, and overall exciting times. At the end of the season the coaches expect to instill teamwork, discipline, and increased self esteem into all of our players. We hope they will learn something new, but most importantly have fun playing the ultimate team sport; Football. With any program, The Football Program has set goals and objectives that ALL Players, Coaches and Parents must follow to ensure that we are all working on the same page in the playbook. Coaching Objectives 1. Safety first, maintains a safe and positive environment for player to learn. 2. Help your child develop the skills necessary to be successful at this level and prepare them for the next season or athletic development level. 3. To have fun learning football and have our players develop a passion for the sport. 4. Learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. 5. Give positive reinforcement based on effort rather than results. 6. Provide a safe and healthy environment for all the kids on the field. Player Expectations 1. Safety First, always come to practice prepared with all your football equipment and protection gear. 2. Always show respect for all the Coaches, Parents, Referees, your teammates and other opponents. 3. Maintain good grades and behavior in school. 4. Have fun and always give your best effort. Never give up. Parent Expectations 1. Please try to get your child to all practices and games on time. I understand this can be difficult at times and impossible other times. In order to develop a winning team complete dedication is needed to be successful, If you know your child will be late or won't be able to make it to a practice or and game, please let your coach know as soon as possible. 2. Please let the Coaches or the Commissioner know if you have any comments, questions or general concerns about your child’s teams or the overall football program as soon as possible, the only way for us to correct an issue in a timely manner, is to make us aware of the concern. 3. If there is any missing, lost or damaged equipment, please bring this to the attention of your child coach as soon as possible… The overall equipment responsibility falls to the parents. To ensure recovery of your equipment deposit, all items must be return in same condition it was issued to you (minus normal wear and tear). 4. Help with fundraising. It is required for ALL Parents and Football Players participate in fundraising. Football is a costly sport and the only way we can lessen the financial responsibility of our parents is by fundraising. 5. Only Prince Georges County Boys and Girls Club certified Coaches and Team Parents with a valid badge are allowed on the football field and marked sidelines during games. All other parents, family members, spectators are required to be in the stands or approved seating areas. It’s the responsibility of the Head Coach to control their sideline, this include parents, guests, and spectators, the Coach can and will remove all persons that fail to adhere to this rule and those who disrupt the Boys and Girl Club environment and game play immediately. The referees can stop and award a victory to the opposing team, if there are continuing issues from specific side. As always if there are any questions or concerns please feel free to talk to your team’s “Team Parent”, the Coaches and Commissioner Jackson 301-693-6395.
