Various types of triangles can be cut from strip sets; we will be cutting pairs of triangles that are sewn
together along their short sides unlike the usual half-square triangle units, in which you sew along the long
side of the triangle. Two strips are sewn together along both long edges. Triangles are then cut from the
strip set. The result is pairs of triangles already sewn together along one edge. Using this method is quicker
than handling little individually cut triangles -- A bonus in any quilter’s busy life. This unique technique is
intended to provide the confident beginners to the well experienced quilter one more method for the modern
piecer to experience.
The Supply List and Cutting Instructions reflect my choice of fabric – Think outside the box….in that the
background pinwheel represented in the cream fabric of my example can be a wonder feature fabric for the
quilt and accented by the smaller pinwheels…apply your choices accordingly or call with questions.
Supply List: 1½ yards (shown as white fabric) for background (white‐on‐white or cream‐on‐cream or a feature fabric; small prints work best) 1‐3/8 yards (shown as blue fabric) for blocks, boarder, and binding (your choice of an accent fabric) 1‐1/8 yard (shown as tan fabric) for blocks and inner border (this creates the 3‐D dimension look for the quilt) 3/8 yard (shown as red fabric) for blocks (your choice of a coordinating accent fabric) 3¼ yards of fabric for backing 53” x 60” piece of batting Cutting Mat ‐‐ (Large rotating cutting mat optional but nice) 24" x 8½" ruler or 24” x 6½” ruler 8½” square ruler (for squaring block) 45mm or 60mm Rotary Cutter & a new blade Pins/Pin Holder/Scissors/Neutral Tread/Bobbins/et al Sewing Machine Smiles & Good Cheer along with all your other favorite
