Job Purpose
To provide key insight to the retail customer and Ado Food Group teams in relation to the Chilled
Savoury Pastry category. This will be done through in-depth analysis of a number of data sources,
including Kantar, Nielsen and retailer specific EPOS / Loyalty Data. The role will be key to developing
future growth strategies within a key retail account for Addo.

 The UK chilled savoury pastry market is worth over £1B and has 6 key sub sectors. (Hot Pie,
Sausage Rolls, Pasties & Slices, Quiche, Pork Pies and Scotch Eggs)
 Addo Food Group are the only UK supplier in this category who supply across all 6 sub sectors.
 Addo Food Group supply into the major multiples and impulse markets in both private label and
brand.

To carry out weekly / monthly data reporting
including sales and waste trends for focus
retail customer plus No.G brand support
Ensuring any remedial action is highlighted to
correct internal and external teams.


Customer satisfied with information provided.
Ensuring key measures – sales, waste, and
availability are all within budget and forecast
requirements and highlighting risk or
opportunity.
To evaluate and report on all promotional and
activity movement.
Manage weekly retailer price audits / promo
reports.

Communicate accurate feedback to customer
trading teams and Addo Food Group
commercial teams regarding promo activity.
As above for the market and competition.

Deliver accurate and timely customer
reporting on Category and Market
performance.

Manage monthly reports that drive customer
satisfaction through ensuring all stakeholders
have an accurate measure of performance.

To assist customer trading teams and Addo
Food Group commercial teams by providing
key insight to support critical business
growth. Done through strategic development,
based on sound consumer understanding.
To assist with the implementation of key
seasonal range changes with a given retail
customer.
Evaluation any range change performance.

Successful category review implementation.

Excellent communication and team working
skills.

Have a clear understanding of merchandising
software (not essential)

Production of activity evaluation reports.







To be able to demonstrate a clear
understanding of consumers needs and
behaviours.

To present findings of research to customers
in order to shape future category strategies.

Shape the strategy planning process.

Be the category expert and consumer
champion.
Work closely with other PF category
managers / analysts to ensure best practise
is adhered to at all times. Avoiding work and
activity duplication, while driving joint
business initiatives where possible.


colleagues and sites.

To support all forms of consumer research both
qualitative and quantitative:
To shape and manage a regular program of
consumer research activity. While working with
agency, the Category Mgr will also be able to
conduct ad hoc research on a budget including
conducting:
 Carry out fixture interviews
 Moderate Customer Listening Groups
 Accompanies shops
 Vox Pops / short film


Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience
 Degree standard calibre
 Category management experience within one or more top 6 major multiple’s
 Full category management understanding and awareness of insight tools
 Can demonstrate a sound commercial understanding
 Ability to interface with customers (external and internal) at a senior level
 An interest in food and food trends
Clean full driving license
Key Skills
 Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all customers (internal & external)
 High Level of PC literacy and numeracy
 Strong understanding of market data insight tools
 Good presentation skills written and verbal
 Must be an enthusiastic individual who is passionate with a can do attitude
