As juniors and seniors, prior to working in the play school, the students have already taken a course in child development where they have studied the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical and language development of children from birth to age five. The Play School meets three mornings a week for two hours. There is time for free choice, group activities, arts and crafts, music, and outdoor play in the gym or field house. Other departments at Staples have been very generous in enriching our program and mini-in school field trips are taken to the library, Television Production Studio, Biology Labs, Music classes, radio station, computer lab, etc. We try to take advantage of the many opportunities of guests who visit the school such as a morning of African drumming!
