DRNR prepares players for the STS WANL competitions which is
conducted by Netball WA. The DRNR program is conducted in an
environment where all three teams train together (on the same days and
times) and coaches work cooperatively to seek to achieve the best
outcomes for the group. The 18’s squad is linked to the Open squad as a
pathway and to Regional underpinning development programs.
Primary Purpose of Position
In conjunction with the Head Coach design, plan and oversee the preparation and performance
standards of athletes and teams competing in the STS State Netball U18 squad for the Darling
Range Netball Region.

Develop a coaching team that is able to

U18 squad training and selection
system.
Assess relevant training needs for
individual coaches in conjunction with
Head Coach
Conduct regular coach meetings as
required.
Participation in the mid-season review
of the progress of the U18 squad players
and that of individual coaches and
identify any support this is required.
Meet with assistant coach/apprentice
coach and discuss performance and
progress of role together with Head
coach or Mentor coach.
Work closely with the WANL
Coordinator and Team Manager in
providing accurate information that can
be communicated in a timely manner to
all participants.
Design weekly training sessions together
with coaching personnel, allocate to
coaches for shared preparation and
presentation in a timely manner.
Oversee training to ensure it is of high
impact and effective preparation for
matches
Communicate to athletes in a timely
manner
Subject to player commitment each
player must take the court for a
minimum of 16 quarters.
Provide effective and constructive
feedback to athletes, specifically to the
needs of the athletes.
Provide feedback to assistant/apprentice
coaches and integrate in all activities
Direct any matters arising from SNL to
DRNR Board through the WANL
Coordinator or President
Where suitable use players from the U18
squad to fill an team vacancies.

Liaise, coordinate and work with all aligned
groups to WANL programme and Region
maximise opportunities or planning for the
future.

Work closely with all DRNR WANL coaching
team seeking to support each other and their
teams, personnel
