SCREADY and SC PASS Testing Information

SCREADY and SC PASS Testing Information:
SCREADY test dates: ELA session 1: April 26, ELA session 2: April 27, Math: April 28
SC PASS test dates: Science: May 11, Social Studies: May 12
Standardized test time is quickly approaching! Please read this important information regarding testing.
Riverside Middle will be using the paper/pencil format. Tests are expected to last a minimum of 2 to 2.5
hours, and may be ending around 11:30 AM. All of the tests are untimed so students may actively work
as long as needed on a given test date. A silent lunch break will be given if a student needs more time to
work past lunch. Please remember to schedule any early dismissals for appointments or out-of-school
activities after testing hours in the afternoon. It is important that students arrive on time, and are wellrested.
During the testing, students may not be in possession of any electronics that can be used for
communicating, timing, creating images, or storing images. These devices, including Smart Watches, will
be collected by the test administrator if they are brought into the test session, and they will be returned
after each test session is complete. Please urge your student to either leave such devices safely at home,
or turned off in his/her locker.
Calculators are allowed on the science test and on the calculator section of the math test, and there are
restrictions on types of calculators allowed. The school will have available a simple 4 function calculator
for each student to use during the test. If a student uses a personal calculator, security regulations
require that a test administrator clear the memory and clear all applications and programs before and
after the test. The memory will be reset to factory default. Students must back up all data and programs
that they wish to save prior to the memory reset.
Links on the State Department of Education website contain more detailed information. The SC-Ready
site also contains a link to a listing of acceptable calculators:
