To be divided evenly among the Agriscience Fair Division Winners at the OSU
State FFA Interscholastic competition. There is a potential to be 36 division
winners (including teams of two). For example, if there were 36 Division
Winners, each participant will receive a check for $125 from the FFA Foundation
sponsored by Devon Energy. This would be in addition to a $75 check to all
Division Winners sponsored by The Noble Foundation. Division Winners are
recognized on stage at the State FFA Convention.
Devon Energy will provide a dinner and tour at Devon Tower for all Agriscience
Fair Division Winners and their Ag-Ed teachers/FFA advisors on Tuesday, May 1,
2017, 5:30 p.m., on the evening of day one of the State FFA Convention. Also,
invite one member and one advisor of the Sweepstakes winning chapter. Devon
Energy will provide the keynote speaker for the event and staff to serve as table
hosts to visit with the students concerning their Agriscience Fair projects, other
FFA interests and their future career goals. Following dinner, participants will
receive a tour of Devon Tower. There will be a potential for approximately 90
FFA members, teachers and Devon Energy representatives. The Agriscience Fair
tabletop displays of each Division Winner will also be on display at Devon Tower
before and during the dinner.
$1,500
During the OSU State FFA Interscholastic Agriscience Fair competition, FFA
chapters will receive points based on the number of 1-2-3-4-5th place entries
each chapter had in all categories of the competition. This will be called the
Agriscience Fair Chapter Sweepstakes. The top three chapters in total points will
receive a check from the Oklahoma FFA Foundation sponsored by Devon Energy
in the amount of $500-$300-$200 and will be recognized on stage at the 2017
State FFA Convention. A traveling Sweepstakes trophy will also be presented
annually to the winning Agriscience Fair Sweepstakes Chapter.
$3,800
To be divided evenly among the Agricultural Education teachers/FFA chapter
advisors that had at least one qualified participant in the OSU State FFA
Interscholastic competition in Stillwater, April 28, 2017. For example, if there
are 30 teachers, each teacher will receive $126. In multiple teacher
departments, the one teacher responsible for and signing the student’s
Agriscience Fair application will receive the stipend.
$2,000
To be divided evenly among all high school science teachers collaborating with
the agricultural education teacher in helping the participant develop their OSU
State FFA Interscholastic Agriscience Fair project. If the high school science
teacher’s name is listed as a collaborator on the student’s application, the
science teacher will receive a stipend from the Oklahoma FFA Foundation
sponsored by Devon Energy.
$4,000
The Oklahoma FFA Foundation will write a check on behalf of Devon Energy to
The Noble Foundation in the amount of $4,000 for their efforts in developing
and administering a 2017 FFA Agriscience Fair Summer Academy for Ag-Ed
instructors via regional workshops. The Noble Academy Trunk Exploration
Program will assist in this project. Year one focused on training Agricultural
Education teachers in proper research techniques and how to assist their
students in selecting Agriscience Fair projects. Year two would train additional
teachers as well as to develop training sessions for students to experience
common science activities and to learn how to construct meaning and
understanding to science concepts. Year three would continue to educate and
involve students and teachers at a higher level.
What an awesome opportunity!
