Rilton Cup was initiated by a donation from Dr. Tore Rilton, and since 1985 the tournament is financially secure.
The challenge prize, donated by SEB, is a Rilton-medal in genuine gold.

Schedule:
9 rounds FIDE-Swiss in Cup and Elo. 7 rounds FIDE-Swiss in 1800.
Rilton Cup and Rilton Elo: the first round starts on December 27th. Personal registration before 1
p.m. All rounds, except the last one, start at 3 p.m. The last round starts at 12 p.m. on January 5th.
No games will be played on December 31st. All three tournaments will be Elo-registered.
Time control:
Cup & Elo: 40 moves in 90 min, followed by 30 min for the rest of the game, with an increment
of 30 sec/move. 1800: 90 min for the whole game, 30 sec increment/move.
Registration:
Please register and pay the entry fee no later than December 16th to Stockholm Chess
Federation. The fee can be paid to our bank account in Nordea with IBAN number SE45 9500

www.rilton.se. Late entry can be made at the playing venue before 11 a.m. for an extra fee of 100
SEK on December 27th. The first 300 registered players are guaranteed participation. Hotel rooms

breakfast, is 645 SEK for a single cabin room, single room standard 795 SEK, double cabin room
(one bed) 745 SEK, double room standard 895 SEK and 995 SEK for a triple room (three beds).

Lower rated juniors may be granted an exemption by applying to us no later than November 15th.
1000 SEK. FM: 600 SEK. Players born 1997 or later: 550 SEK. If you register and pay the entry
fee before December 1st you will receive a discount of 100 SEK. GM and IM play for free.

Main prizes and rating prizes will not be shared. The highest rated players are not eligible for rating prizes.
Due to legal requirements, preliminary tax will be deducted from all prizes. Electronic devices are not allowed in the
playing area and must be handed to the organizers before entering the playing area.
New rules for this year’s tournament:
The grace period for Rilton Cup and Rilton Elo will be 15 minutes.
Withdrawal from the tournament or walkover requests for the next round after the pairings have been made will be
punished and reported unless a doctor's certificates is displayed or another valid reason is given.
