to promote the study of languages and cultures, including intercultural
communication, so as to encourage the multilingual and multicultural
development of Europe and internationally. It does so by:

•

Launching new research and development initiatives;
Developing policies and strategies at institutional, national and European
levels;
Disseminating information on these matters.
The CEL/ELC fosters cooperation in all areas of education between
teachers, researchers, students, educational institutions, associations,
private organisations, policy makers and other bodies which share its aims.

 projects
 policy development
and these two are interrelated
BUT
 the CEL/ELC does not have any salaried staff
 we are a stakeholder organisation -> Business Platform for
Multilingualism; key role at the Limassol Multilingualism Conference
WE NOW HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM
