Welcome
Welcome to the Leyland Learning Centre. We are pleased that you will soon be joining us and we
hope you enjoy your experience here.
In preparation for your visit, we have put together some information that we think will be useful to
you. In this pack you will find information on getting to the centre, the layout of the building, the
facilities we have, and the local amenities. Please read this information carefully and don't hesitate
to contact us if you have any queries on telephone number 01772 538474.

Finding Us
By car
Maps
For journey maps and customisable directions, please go to https://www.google.co.uk/maps
Satellite navigation
Some satellite navigation systems may not direct you precisely if our postcode is used. An
alternative is to use the postcode PR25 1QX, which is for Worden Sports College. The college
is adjacent to Leyland Learning Centre.
Parking
There are 45 dedicated car parking spaces on site. Street parking is also available but as we
are in a residential area please respect our neighbours and do not park illegally or
irresponsibly. Police action may be taken against those who park poorly e.g. parking on the
pavement in such a way that prams and wheelchairs cannot pass!
Car sharing policy
Car sharing would help protect the environment, alleviate the demand for parking, and save

Driving using M6, north and south (8 minutes)
Leave the M6 at junction 28. Take the B5256 exit to Leyland/A49.
Turn left onto Leyland Way/B5256. Continue to follow the B5256, going through one
roundabout.
At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto King St/B5254. You will pass the British
Commercial Vehicle Museum on your left.
Turn left onto Towngate/B5254.
Turn right onto Westgate, between the Original Ship (pub) and Aldi supermarket.

At the end, turn right onto Broadfield Drive. You will pass the fire station on your right and
then St Mary's Church on your left.
Turn left onto Westfield Drive (narrow road with speed humps).
Take the next left onto Redwood Avenue; we are on the right.
Driving using A581, from Croston (15 minutes)
From Croston, follow the A581 towards Leyland (right turns required to stay on A581).
At the roundabout, turn left onto Leyland Lane/B5253.
At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto Schleswig Way/B5253.
Turn right (just after Dunkirk Hall pub on your left) onto Dunkirk Lane/B5248. Continue
until you see Leyprint building immediately ahead, and follow the road as it bends to the
left.
Continue left onto Leyland Lane, then right onto Leadale Road (narrow road with speed
humps).
Turn right onto Westfield Drive, and continue to the left to stay on Westfield Drive.
Turn right onto Redwood Avenue; we are on the right.
Driving using A582, from Preston (8 minutes)
From Preston, head south on the A582.
At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on Golden Way/A582. Continue to follow
the A582, continuing through one roundabout and one set of traffic lights.
At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Flensburg Way/B5253.
At the roundabout, turn left onto Longmeanygate/B5256. Continue through the traffic
lights.
At the mini roundabout, go right onto Broadfield Drive.
Take 4th road on the right, Westfield Drive (narrow road with speed humps).
Take the next left onto Redwood Avenue; we are on the right.

By train
The closest railway station is Leyland (LEY); Station Brow, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 3NN.
Walking from the railway station (25 minutes/1.6 miles)
Head southwest on Station Brow (down the hill, with the railway station on your left).
Continue onto Golden Hill Lane, passing The Queens Hotel (pub) on your left.
Continue along this road for around 10 minutes, passing Argos on the right.
Continue through one roundabout (Travis Perkins is on the right).
At the next roundabout, turn left onto Broadfield Drive.
Turn right onto Westfield Drive (4th road on right), following the sign for Worden Sports
College.
Turn left onto Redwood Avenue; we are on the right.
By bus from the railway station (20 minutes including 8 minute
walk/0.5 miles)
Head southwest on Station Brow (down the hill, with the railway station on your left).
Wait at bus stop next to Coppers Tea Rooms.
Board the 111 bus to the Broadfield Arms (pub).
Walk with the Broadfield Arms on your left.
Turn left onto Leadale Road.
Turn right onto Westfield Drive, then turn left to stay on Westfield Drive.
Turn right onto Redwood Avenue; we are on the right.

By bus
The closest bus station is John Fishwick & Sons; Golden Hill Lane, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 3LE.
Walk from the bus station (20 minutes/1.1 miles)
Turn right onto Golden Hill Lane, so that Costcutter and Crown Barbers are on your left.
Continue through one roundabout (Travis Perkins is on the right).
At the next roundabout, turn left onto Broadfield Drive.
Turn right onto Westfield Drive, following the sign for Worden Sports College.
Turn left onto Redwood Avenue; we are on the right.
Get the bus from the bus station (20 minutes including 8
minute walk/0.5 miles)
Board the 111 bus to the Broadfield Arms (pub).
Walk with the Broadfield Arms on your left.
Turn left onto Leadale Road.
Turn right onto Westfield Drive, then turn left to stay on Westfield Drive.
Turn right onto Redwood Avenue; we are on the right.

The building is situated in its own grounds with dedicated parking spaces and has two floors, both of
which have training/meeting rooms, washrooms, and breakout areas.

Please note that we operate a Smoke Free policy at the Learning Centre. Therefore, there is no
smoking permitted in the building or on the Learning Centre grounds.

Fire Assembly
In the event of a fire alarm sounding, delegates are asked to leave the building by the nearest fire exit
and assemble on the car park. Course facilitators will provide more details at the start of your
course.
Local Amenities
At lunchtime you may wish to visit a local shop or café. Here are some options. All times shown are

Parmar News & Off Licence (5 minutes)
On leaving Leyland Learning Centre, turn left onto Redwood Avenue.
Turn left onto Westfield Drive.
Westfield Drive will bend to the right; do not follow the bend but make slight left turn,
following footpath.
At the end, go through narrow alley towards One Call 4 Car Care.
Turn left onto Leyland Lane and continue for a short way; the newsagent is on the right.
Spar, Glovers Bakery, Tatjana's Sandwich Shop (8 minutes)
On leaving Leyland Learning Centre, turn right onto Redwood Avenue.
Turn right onto Briarwood Close.
At the end of the street, go through narrow alley (marked as cycle route).
Turn left onto Mill Lane (narrow road).
At the end (facing Leyprint), turn left onto Leyland Lane.
Continue along this road. Spar and Tatjana's Sandwich Shop are on the left; Glovers Bakery
is on the right.
Tesco Express (12 minutes)
On leaving Leyland Learning Centre, turn left onto Redwood Avenue.

Turn left onto Westfield Drive, then turn right to stay on Westfield Drive.
Turn left onto Leadale Road.
At the end of Leadale Road, you will reach a T junction.
Turn right and continue. Tesco Express is on your left.
Tesco Extra (15 minutes)
On leaving Leyland Learning Centre, turn left onto Redwood Avenue.
Turn right onto Larchwood Crescent, then right to stay on Larchwood Crescent.
Turn left onto Elmwood Avenue, then right onto Broadfield Drive.
Continue past the church and fire station, then turn left onto Spring Gardens.
Continue to the end; Tesco Extra is facing you.
To drive:
Follow above directions, but instead of turning onto Spring Gardens, continue.
Turn left onto Lancastergate. Continue, passing the police station on your left.
Turn right onto Tesco Extra car park, opposite the magistrates courts.
