You will be in the four person Events and Filming team, part of the Interpretation Unit, based at Longmore House, Salisbury Road, Edinburgh. Key responsibilities, duties and objectives Work in close liaison with the Events Manager (line manager), one other Assistant Events Manager and Events Assistant in the development, organisation and project management of an annual events programme (including Public Performances) staged throughout the Historic Environment Scotland estate. Project manage a number of high-profile events taking all reasonable measures to ensure their safe and successful delivery, negotiate performer rates and conclude contracts. Deliver events within the parameters set out in legislation and by Historic Environment Scotland to protect the properties in care. Work with other members of the team and widely across Historic Environment Scotland to deliver new and increased revenue streams generated by Historic Environment Scotland’s content-led events programme and through third party external events and other uses such as filming. Ensure that, within legislation and Historic Environment Scotland guidance, all relevant health and safety documentation/ arrangements are in place as required for events or other activities which fall within the remit of this role. Compile income and expenditure figures for analysis and monthly reporting to the Events Manager. Manage agreed portions of the events budget including purchasing and invoicing arrangements. Consider requests received from a range of outside bodies (e.g. promoters, local authorities, community groups, private individuals, etc) to stage events at Historic Environment Scotland properties. Arrange and chair site meetings, liaise with colleagues, co-ordinate Historic Environment Scotland’s response and arrange contracts. Within the Historic Environment Scotland guidance, consider requests from a range of contacts (e.g. film and television companies, screen industry bodies) to film at Historic Environment Scotland sites. Arrange site meetings (when appropriate), co-ordinate overall response, negotiate fees and contracts. To assist in the setting up and taking down of events. Frequent independent travel to areas not served by public transport will be required. The job will require regular weekend working at events.
