See below. answers: they have colors/ they are beautiful…..). "What colors can you see? What's Description of Activity .Teacher says: " I love rainbows! Do you like rainbows? " and elicits why? (possible your favorite color?" etc… Introduction of lexical item The teacher presents the pupils with the colors by means of e flashcards downloaded from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4mzoN9Gw8I&feature=related (red, blue, yellow, green, orange, pink, purple, brown, black, white, gray) N.B. most of the pupils already know a few basic colors like red, orange, blue…. First viewing: exposure and immediate repetition: teacher asks the pupils to repeat the colors and raise their hand/finger when they hear and see the color they like most (kinesthetic). Second viewing: Teacher asks the pupils to pay attention to the order of the colors and try to remember it. (They will probably remember the first and last colors mentioned – that's fine!) Reproduction Post viewing: Teacher hands out a worksheet for sequencing the colors. (worksheet attached) Frontal checking – by means of the following clip. One color is missing. Which color? E.g "What is red in our classroom?" or "Show me a blue pen." Production Two homework tasks: A. Pupils get a handout with two rainbows "My Rainbow" and "My Friend's Rainbow" (see below) which will be used for a color dictation in the follow up lesson. The stripes of the rainbow are numbered and the pupils are asked for homework to color their rainbow. B. Digital practice on the school site: find link in homework task below. Lesson Two: Reviewing colors learnt in previous lesson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kkz7b32dSwA&feature=relmfu Teacher hands out colorful items (card, balloon, flower..) and says: "Good morning red!" and all pupils with the red items stand up and say good morning. They then say good morning to each other (walking around or making around in small groups, in case they sit in groups) "Good morning green. Good morning yellow" etc… Teachers introduces the rainbow song downloaded from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRNy2i75tCc&feature=relmfu and encourages pupils to sing along. Rainbow activity on work page with teacher modeling first. Teacher shows her colored rainbow and says: " In my rainbow number one is yellow. Number two is green." Etc…Then pupils do the same in pairs. They don't show the rainbow they colored at 2 home and describe it the way the teacher did. "In my rainbow number one is orange." Pupils listen to each other and color the second rainbow. They then compare their work. Teacher introduces the chunk "Do you have…..?" by means of asking: "Do you have a red marker/T shirt/sweater…?" The pupils answer "Yes,I do." or "No, I don't." Pupils sit in small groups and ask each other questions: "Do you have…..?" Then each pupil prepares 11 color cards for a card game "Go Fish". Teacher hands out small Bristol cards and the pupils color them in the 11 different colors they learnt. Stronger pupils may write the names of the colors as well. H.W tasks: A. Pupils sing the rainbow song (see lesson 2). Pupils play "Go Fish" in pairs. Both pupils put the cards in a pile and each takes 5 cards. Pupils have to find pairs by asking "Do you have…" if the peer doesn’t have the color the Follow-up pupil takes a card from the pile. By the end of the game the pupil with the most pairs is the winner. Review of numbers and colors by color dictation of numbers.
