ENNERDALE & KINNISIDE CE PRIMARY SCHOOL e-mail: [email protected] Newsletter No.27: 6th May 2016 Dear Parents and Friends Despite the short week after the bank holiday it still seems a lot has happened since the last newsletter. The term is racing ahead and we finally have had some warmth to make it feel almost summery after the snow of last week. As a result, sports are in full swing at the school and when the new MUGA opens we are going to be spoilt for choice with sporting venues. Humphrey Head Residential At the end of the month, we are off on our Key Stage Two residential. This year we are having an outdoor activities week and are using Humphrey Head outdoor centre, which is near Grange Over Sands. The children are really looking forward to this and kit lists and medical consent forms were handed out at the parents information evening last night. For those of you who couldn’t make it, please check your children’s bags tonight and Girls Cricket with Kate Cross return the medical form next week to This was an event held at Keswick School to try school. Key Stage 1 Multi Skills Festival Class One have had a sporting time as well and visited West Lakes Academy on Thursday for a multi skills festival, which they all clearly enjoyed from the positive comments they made when arriving back in school. Today, they are the first group to use the new room above The Gather, when Janice will be putting them through their paces and getting them fit. Class Two have not been left out in this summer fitness drive with Nigel working them into a sweat and Paul continuing his cricket coaching sessions. SAT’s Next week is of course SAT’s week for our Year 6’s who have the dubious privilege of being the first to experience the new exams. It is difficult to predict how well they will do as the government hasn’t yet decided what the marks will be for passing! However, I know they will do their best and can be proud of how hard they have worked over the last year. A letter explaining the changes in assessment will be sent out shortly. Here’s hoping summer really has arrived and we can all enjoy a lovely weekend. Best wishes David Moore
