of founding partner Joel Johnson, CFP®. He is
something of a go-to guy for all matters financial,

when he’s not hosting his weekly Sunday morning
radio program, Money Wisdom, on WTIC NewsTalk
1080. With over 20 years’ experience in the financial
services industry, Johnson has a sophisticated understanding of the investment world. Yet, he prefers

book, The Money Map (2011). To investors
who are accustomed to the industry standard
– a hundred-page binder loaded with cash-flow
projections and convoluted analyses – Johnson
Brunetti’s unique approach may come as a shock.
“On one page, we show clients where their
money is, where we think it should go, and what
the results will be if they follow our advice,”
Johnson explains. “By keeping things simple,
we empower our clients to make the tough
decisions, and we stay grounded in their world.

A Bias Toward Safety
According to Johnson, the firm’s clients are
particularly sensitive to any losses that appear on
their account statements. To them, protecting their
principal – that nest egg they have labored to build
over many years – is what matters most.
“Very few advisors incorporate insurance
products and institutional-alternative investment
products in their clients’ financial plans,” he says.
“We use these tools because they provide steady,
reasonable rates of return without a fluctuation in
principal. For investors who value safety above all,
