This is essential in our complex and ever-changing industry,” said Barb Nick, President and CEO. “Our employees are our most valuable resource and it is vital that we effectively attract, retain and develop our workforce. I am confident that Ian will be a strong member of Dairyland’s leadership team as we work to exceed our members’ expectations.” Bullion will be responsible for the day-to-day strategic operation of the Human Resources Department, including benefits programs, employee training, compensation, recruitment and labor relations. He will also oversee the direction of the safety and security functions within Dairyland. Most recently, Bullion served as Vice President of Human Resources and Training and Development at Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company in Grinnell, Iowa. He previously worked at Quaker Oats Co., a subsidiary of PepsiCo, as Senior Human Resources manager at their Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Manhattan, Kansas, locations. Throughout his career, he has also been very active in community and civic organizations. Bullion earned both a Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa (Iowa City). He and his wife, Deborah, are relocating to the La Crosse area, from Swisher, Iowa. Bullion will succeed Mary Lund who has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice President – HR. Lund will work directly with the President and CEO and the Board of Directors.
