IV. DESIRED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
As Lee’s mission statement indicates, “The foundational purpose of all educational programs is to develop
within the students knowledge, appreciation, understanding, ability and skills which will prepare them for
responsible Christian living in a complex world.” Lee’s core competencies call for “the integration of faith and
vocation through the practice of ethical action, redemptive service, and responsible citizenship in the church,
the community, and the world.” The primary goal of Lee University’s QEP is to create pathways which will
facilitate students’ integration of faith and vocation across the curriculum in order to achieve the missional
purpose of responsible Christian living.
QEP OVERALL STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME
As a result of their study of the general core and major programs at Lee University, students will be able to
demonstrate the integration of Christian faith and vocation through the practice of ethical action, redemptive
service, and responsible citizenship in the church, the community and the world.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME FOR PROJECT 1
As a result of their participation in the linked courses LEEU 101, LEEU 102A and LEEU 102B, students will be
able to articulate their awareness and understanding of the institution’s core values.
Sub-outcomes for Project 1
1) Students will recognize and define the core values of the institution.
2) Students will demonstrate the ability to make connections between the core values of
faith and vocation and their expression in ethical action, redemptive service, and
responsible citizenship.
3) Students will reflect on how these connections relate/contribute to the integration of faith
and vocation.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME FOR PROJECT 2
As a result of their study in their majors, students will be able to connect ethical action, redemptive service and
responsible citizenship with academic knowledge through pedagogies such as service learning, global
perspectives, internships and research.
Sub-outcomes for Project 2
1) Students will demonstrate the ability to make connections between academic
knowledge in their degree major and these experiential learning opportunities.
2) Students will reflect on how these connections relate/ contribute to the integration of
faith and vocation.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME FOR PROJECT 3
As a result of their experiences in the Lee University general education core and major programs of study,
students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the integration of Christian faith and vocation through
the practice of ethical action, redemptive service, and responsible citizenship in the church, the community and
the world.
Sub-outcomes for Project 3
1) Students will synthesize academic knowledge and experiential learning with faith and
vocation.
2) Students will evaluate the implications of their college experience, both academic and
co-curricular, for their future practice of the integration of faith and vocation.
