Our facility features an auditorium with stage, classrooms, indoor & outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, seasonal pool,
soccer fields, children’s play area, and a picnic area. Our success in fulfilling the community’s recreational needs based on our shared goals,
philosophy, policies, & performance. We feel the main priority of today’s active individual is in achieving a balanced lifestyle; balanced among
work, family, & leisure. Our mission is to contribute to creating this balance by providing quality recreational services & programs.

our residents and visitors by providing facilities to the general population, especially youth, and to all our special needs segments of the
population.

All volunteers that participate at Sylmar Recreation Center must be live scanned & screened by the Department of Recreation and Parks prior to
volunteering in any capacity.

The objective of this program is to promote and provide sports opportunities to girls and women. Our goal, at Sylmar Recreation Center, is to
increase girls’ and women’s participation in sports activities by providing a variety of choices in sports programming. Sylmar R.C. offers youth
sports, clinics, classes, adult leagues, camp and sports camp, all of which provide opportunities for girls and women of all ages to develop sports
skills and participate in sports activities.

Classes begin the week of April 17

Registration begins Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 am and will continue until classes and leagues are full.

Registration is held in the office.

Age criteria must be met on the FIRST day of class and proper registration forms filled out completely.

All fees for classes and leagues must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Registration taken on a “first come, first serve” basis. Classes have limited available space.

When registering for a class, please have exact amount of payment for the classes.

Only personal checks, credit cards, money orders, and exact cash accepted.

Please make check payable to “City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.”

No post dated, out of state, or temporary checks accepted. Check must contain name and address. Valid driver’s license
and/or picture identification card required for all checks.
There will be a $35.00 handling charge for any insufficient, cancelled or stopped checks.



REFUND POLICY: A non-refundable 15% administration fee will be assessed by the Recreation Center for any patron
granted a refund, change, or transfer per class or sports league registration. No full refunds will be issued unless a class or
sports league is canceled by the Recreation Center. No refunds to patrons making false statements on registration forms.
No make up classes for a participant’s absence and no substitutions. All information in the brochure is subject to change without prior
notice. Neither the City of Los Angeles, nor Sylmar Recreation Center carries insurance! Patrons must carry their own insurance.

Games will take place in the gym. Equipment will be provided for those who need it.
