Making Smart Video Player the Default Player
IF YOU DO NOT DO MAKE “SMART VIDEO PLAYER” THE DEFAULT PLAYER,
YOUR SMART BOARD WILL NOT BE INTERACTIVE WITH VIDEOS.
1. If getting a video from United Streaming (Encyclomedia), download the clip to
you’re “My Documents” folder.
2. Right Click on the video clip you wish to play and go to “Open With”. If Smart
Video Player is not listed, and it probably is not, go to “Choose Program”.

3. Click on “Browse”
4. A list of Program Files on your Computer comes up. Scroll Over until you reach
the folder titled “Smart Technologies” . Open the “Smart Technologies” Folder.
5. Open the folder titled “Smart Board Software”.
6. Scroll Over until you find the file titled “Video Player”; click on it and select
Open.
7. Put click in the box to put a check mark in the box that reads “Always use the
select program to open this kind of file. This will ensure that Smart Video Player is
the default player when you are showing videos on the Smart Board.
