2017 TEAM MANAGER
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION FORM
POSITION TITLE: SPORT TEAM MANAGER
All RMIT representative teams require a Team Manager. The Team Managers will assist in the recruitment,
coordination and management of the teams competing at all Australian University Sport Games and
Championship events.
Position Outline:
The Sport Team Manager plays an integral role in the organisation and preparation of RMIT sporting teams for
the Australian University Sport program. The Team Manager’s main role is to act as both a coordinator of their
team and a liaison with the Sport University Team Manager (herein referred to as the UTM) to ensure that all
arrangements and documentation is in place for their team.
Remuneration and benefits:
The role of RMIT Redbacks Team Manager is a volunteer position. However, the Team Managers will be
partially subsidised for their 2016 Uni Games campaign. In 2017 a subsidy of $200 is available to Team
Managers. To be eligible to receive this amount you must attend all five meetings scheduled throughout the
year. Each meeting is worth $40. Therefore if you attend at least the first three meetings you should receive
$120 off your SUG package. Provided you attend the following two meetings, the remaining amount will be
taken off your AUG package if your team is successful in qualifying for AUGs.
The estimated total RMIT package costs for 2017 are:
SUG 2017 Geelong: Approximately $220 (including accommodation, dinner and merchandise)
AUG 2017 Gold Coast: Approximately $380 (including flights, accommodation, dinners and merchandise),
Written and verbal references can be provided upon request, post event.
Provided roles and responsibilities are carried out, applicants will be eligible to receive a certificate from RMIT
LEAD, an official authorisation of undertaking this volunteer role on their academic transcript. You will be
required to attend at least 3 meetings throughout the year to receive this recognition.
Should Team Manager’s be forced out of a playing role due to high quality recruits, they are still guaranteed a
place at the event as a “non-playing” Team Manager. Therefore a benefit of the role is a guaranteed place at
SUGs and/or AUGs.
