Purpose of Document
This documentation is intended to highlight the commitment of City of Bath Hockey Club to an effective Disciplinary Policy.
Definitions
Club / The Club
Club or The Club is defined as City of Bath Hockey Club.
Officers / Club Officers
Officers or Club Officers is defined as members of City of Bath Hockey Club General Committee.
Members
Members are defined as fully paid up, subscribed, playing and non-playing members of City of Bath Hockey Club, whether they are
male or female, senior or junior players.
Senior Members
Members are defined as those over the age of 18
Junior Members
Members are defined as those under the age of 18
Volunteers
Volunteers are defined as someone who is not currently a member of City of Bath Hockey Club but who assists in some function in
the running of The Club.
Statement of Intention
A player’s conduct on the field of play is the responsibility of the individual player. Conduct should be in accordance with the CoBHC
Code of Conduct and should be reinforced by their respective Team Captains, Coaches or Managers.
To help maintain or improve the reputation the Club the following guidelines should be followed:
Green Card
A one off green card is commonplace in hockey, however if a player is regularly receiving a caution then the respective Team
Captain should speak to the player concerned in order to address the issue.

Yellow Card
A yellow card should be reported to the Club Captain by the Team Captain as soon as possible where a discussion will take place
around the circumstances of the incident. If it is thought necessary, a Disciplinary Meeting will be convened which will be made up
of the Club Captain, Team Captain and one other member of the Club Committee.
If it is considered that action should be taken against the player then the player will be invited to defend himself/herself before the
action is taken.
If a player receives three yellow cards in a season the Disciplinary Committee will discuss the matter.
If disciplinary action is proposed, the player concerned will have the opportunity to represent himself/herself. After the meeting the
player will be advised of any action to be taken.
As a standard it is proposed that any player who receives three or more yellow cards in a season, the Disciplinary Committee will
consider a match ban of at least one game.
Red Card
A player who receives a red card will have the minimum punishment laid down by England Hockey and the relevant competition.
A Club Disciplinary Meeting will be called and the player will have the right to represent himself/herself. If it is considered
appropriate the Disciplinary Committee may take further action.
Declaration
City of Bath Hockey Club hereby adopts and accepts this policy as a current operating guide regulating the actions of members.
