ROLE PROFILE GENERAL DETAILS Role Title GSS Solution Specialist Location Gaborone/Kimberley Department De Beers - Midstream GBF Band GBF6 Reports to (manager) Global IM Midstream Manager Type of Work Specialist Support Manager once removed De Beers CIO Date Feb 2017 CONTEXT The purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration and knowledge management through the deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise technology, infrastructure, applications and mine technical systems. PURPOSE To provide the appropriate Core Diamond application support and expertise to enable the business. TYPICAL TASKS - - - - - Optimise business performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and the Global Sightholder Sales (GSS) systems (with specialisation in the Core Diamond systems-Dynamics AX, SCS and Product Catalogue), in conjunction with business process owners Work with the process owners in the business to drive the design of the overall enterprise data and process structure and developthe GSS solutions and roadmaps to align this (with key focus on the Core Diamond systems-Dynamix AX, SCS and Product Catalogue). Gain consensus on new process concepts and builds coalitions to move process improvement forward Undertake complex process and systems analysis, design and proposal creation, which includes technical systems problem solving in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment Provide coaching and advise on future use of technology and business process improvements in the Midstream Site Sales area (with key focus on the Core Diamond systems-Dynamix AX, SCS and Product Catalogue) Work closely with process owners and key users to understand business requirements and drives the analysis and design of quality technical solutions Perform functional analysis, requirements definition and GSS solution configuration and testing, in conjunction with third party configuration teams Conduct prototypes, develop functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/ control tables in partnership with third part development teams Understand the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for GSS systems Assist in security/authorization setup, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation for GSS systems Own the solution architecture, application plans and roadmap for GSS solution and acts as the design authority Lead and supervise development of solutions across projects and enhancements in the GSS solution scope Drive the adoption of best practice and enforce the use of standard systems and solutions for GSS solution and applications Keep up to date with technology trends and developments and use proof of concepts (POC's) to trial new technologies where appropriate Act as the key specialist point of contact for service providers in problem solving and investigations related to level 3 and 4 incidents in the GSS area Ensure the knowledge underpinning application/service delivery is documented, managed and maintained Work with the operations teams to identify, plan and execute service improvements 1 Role Profile Template This role profile acts as a guide to the role only and additional work outcomes may be required to be performed by the incumbent ROLE RELATIONSHIPS Managerially Accountable to: IM Midstream Manager Key Internal Relationships: Core Diamond Application team, Peripheral Systems team, DBGSS, DTCB, NDTC, DBUK and GSS Key External Relationships: Key Service Providers, Contractors/Consultants, Industry Associates and Professional Institutions Direct Reports (if applicable): Not Applicable CAPABILITY REQUIRED TO DO THE ROLE Mental Processing Ability Evidence of ability to complete work of 2 complexity. Desirable: It would be advantageous to have a postgraduate qualification in the relevant IM discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
