Position Description – Assistant Coach
(Bowling)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaise with head coach, other assistant coaches and team captains to
develop individual bowling skills.
o This will be discussed and identified at gamely meetings
o Prioritize individual bowling drills, assistance to players at the
Head Coach’s request etc.

Identify bowling errors in players and develop training tool to assist with
improvement

To give personal one – one coaching at the Head Coach’s request

Provide an environment for player development and enjoyable
participation

Provide an outlet for players to discuss their bowling needs

Represent Axe Creek CC in the general cricket community by setting
high standards of leadership, sportsmanship and personal behavior
REPORTING

This position reports to the Axe Creek CC Head Coach through gamely
meetings

Captains and vice captains will liaise with the assistant bowling coach
during gamely meetings with their needs and concerns on bowlers in
their teams

The assistant bowling coach will put together a report, stating the
strengths, weaknesses, improvements of the year and stats, of all the
A-grade squad and also the major bowlers in each of the other grades

OBJECTIVES

To assist the head coach and provide specialist coaching for bowling
for Axe Creek CC team members

To provide on field and off field support for bowlers throughout the club

To help the club stream line knowledge to Head Coach and Selectors
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The applicant shall display some or all of the following:

Well developed interpersonal communication skills and an ability to
motivate people

Level one coaching qualification is desirable

Demonstrated capacity to engage team members in learning new skills
and providing on-going coaching of team members
