Division 1 Winners – Cobram Barooga. Left to right: Gary Hunt, James Zappelli, Chris Tomlinson ©, Nathan Matthews, Terry Vogel. Cobram Barooga kept their unbeaten season in tact with a dominant 4/1 win over Mooroopna. As pointed out to team mates after the conclusion of play both Gary Hunt and Nathan Matthews were undefeated for the pennant season, Nathan having a clean 5-0 result for the year. Four of the five matches were decided at the 18th hole with the only other match finishing at the 16th hole with a 3&2 win to Terry Vogel. This was Cobram’s first win of the Bert Larsen Trophy since 1994. Division 2 Winners – Shepparton Left to right: Simon Michel ©, Vincent Chan, Jeremy Rath, Kyle Michel, Geoff Devine. In a repeat of last year’s final Shepparton and Rich River played off for the Division two title with the result being reversed with Shepparton winning 4/1. Shepparton appeared to be in control of the match from the early stages of the day however a couple of spirited fight backs from the Rich River side made the Shepparton side earn their win. Kyle Michel and Geoff Devine were the two undefeated players from the Shepparton team for the year. Division 3 Winners – Ky Parkland Left to right: David Cartwright ©, Adam Hill, Glenn Cartwright, Luke Roberts, Tyler Dunn. Ky Parkland’s Glen Cartwright was the toast of the club on Sunday evening as he won his match against Gavin Madill from Mooroopna on the 19th hole to secure a 3/2 victory for his side. All matches were decided after the 16th hole and this result was sweet revenge as the Mooroopna side had defeated Ky Parkland 4/1 earlier in the season at Mooroopna. David Cartwright was Ky Parklands best performer for the season with 5 wins from 6 matches. Division 4 Winners – Mooroopna Left to right: Matt Watson, Carl Van Zeist, Brad O’Brien ©, Wayne Tonkes, Jason Demay. Mooroopna produced a dominant display in the Division 4 final against Numurkah winning 4/1 with most matches being won fairly comfortably with Jason Demay at No1 winning his match 8&7. Numurkah’s only winner was Alan Dalton who won his match 2up. Like in Division 3 Mooroopna tuned the tables on the match held earlier in the season where Numurkah won 3/2. Jason Demay was Mooroopna’s best performer for the season winning 5 of his 6 matches. Division 5 Winners – Rich River Left to right: Graeme Stevens, Bill Curnow, Colin Johnson ©, Andrew Johnson, Sean Burns. Rich River justified their top of the table position with a hard fought 3/2 win over Nagambie. Sean Burns, playing at No1 was the hero for Rich River, with the match sitting at two games all he won his match 2&1 to give them the title. Andrew Johnson was Rich River’s best performer for the season winning 5 of his 6 matches for the year. Division 6 Winners – Kialla Left to right: Jordon Geisler, Dennis Prosser, Jim Mallis, Keith Bover, Rob Geisler. Kialla finally got its hands on a GV pennant flag after some close misses in Summer and Junior Pennant over the last 12 months. Kialla’s No1 and No2 players, Jordon Geisler and Jim Mallis bought the team home with 3&2 and 2&1 wins respectively to take the title 3/2. Jordon Geisler playing at No1 was the best performer for Kialla for the season.
