BOOKLISTS
Students in the English Learning Area are required to source required texts in print or
electronic format according to their learning style/study preference.
Text selection is based on the following criteria:

That texts selected reflect the Christ-centred mission of the School and allow an
'education through faith’.

That texts selected offer a window to the world and provide opportunities to
examine a diversity of thought and perspective.

That texts selected are rigorous and relevant, offer best example of genre and are
age appropriate.
On the following pages is the list of titles required according to Year Group and Course.
For Years 10 – 12, it is expected that all required texts have been read/viewed at least once
by the start of Term 2 (February 2015). This is recommended for Years 7 - 9.
Possible sources for both print and visual texts are bookshops (allowing time for orders),
online bookstores and apps:

Paperbacks from Australian sellers through websites such as Booktopia,
Angus & Robertson, Allen & Unwin, Dymocks, Collins, Boomerang Books
[some offer free delivery].

Paperbacks from overseas sellers through websites such as Amazon, The
Book Depository [some offer free delivery].

ebooks from Australian online stores such as Booktopia, Angus & Robertson,
Allen & Unwin, Dymocks, Collins, Books & Beyond.

ebooks from web sellers such as Googleplay (android devices), Kindle (for
Kindle eReaders and purchased through Amazon).

iBooks from the iTunes store (for all Apple devices).

Used from eBay, Gumtree, various second hand bookshops, other
students/families.

Online archives for texts out of copyright (usually older texts) that can be
downloaded free from websites such as Project Gutenberg (a Google search
is productive here).

LearningField may offer some texts for Years 7-10.
