Another Successful Summer!
Dear 2016 Staff Members and Volunteers,
Thank you SO much for all of your hard work this summer.
This job is intense! The hours are long, the work can be
challenging, the camp songs are relentless, the mosquito
bites are real, and there is no such thing as a comfort zone,
but it has been such a joy to watch each and every one of
you grow over these last 6 weeks. We have shared so much
together this summer– our struggles, our successes,
countless laughs, tons of stories, and maybe even a few
tears here and there, but we are so proud of everything that
WE have accomplished together this summer and hope that
you are too! You’re part of the Camp Millhouse family now
and know that you are always welcome here. You are all so
appreciated and we can’t thank you enough for all that you
have done for us this summer. So take some time to relax,
rest, and reflect on your wonderful experience, and then get
ready to apply for next summer ;) Thanks again everyone!

Renting Camp For Your Special Event
Looking for a venue to rent for an upcoming event? We are
the prefect location for a variety of events and occasions
such as birthday parties, baby showers, retreats,
graduation parties, family reunions and more! Contact the

It’s so hard to believe that our 6 weeks of camp have officially come to an end. It
seems like only yesterday we were busy preparing for our wonderful staff and
unforgettable campers to arrive! Summers at Camp Millhouse are nothing short
of incredible, and this year was no exception. The summer was jam packed with
all kinds of exciting activities that gave our campers a chance to try new things
each and every day! For example, we had one young woman in her late 20’s that
was able to experience swimming for the very first time in her life here at Camp!
The joy on her face as she entered the water left not a single dry eye in the pool.
We had several other campers that experienced ’firsts’ this summer too! Many of
our campers participated in our low ropes challenge course for the first time and
successfully completed each element! We had campers that rode the train for the
first time, played instruments for the first time, attended a dance for the first time,
and for some of our campers, this was their very first time away from home! Our
dedicated and enthusiastic staff members worked so hard to create a memorable
camp experience for over 260 campers this summer. It was so great to see so
many returning campers, and to get to know all of the new campers who joined
us this year! Between Music, Arts and Crafts, Swimming, Recreation, and
Evening Program, we sure were busy during the day, but there is no better place
to spend a summer surrounded by friends and fun!

Save the Date
Our 3rd Annual Resource Fair and
Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for
October 1st, 2016!The pancake breakfast
will run from 8:00 am– 11:00 am and the
fair will run from 9:00 am –12:00 pm. We
will be serving pancakes, sausage, biscuits
and gravy as well as milk, juice and coffee.
This is a wonderful opportunity for
individuals and their families to learn
more about the many resources that are
available to them both in and around our
community! We may even have a few
special guests join us as well! Rain or
shine-come enjoy this fun day!

Camp Millhouse is looking to add
some outstanding nurses to our roster
for the 2017 summer season!
If you or someone you know might be
interested in spending some time with
us next summer, contact the office for
additional information!
First Fridays
It’s almost time for the very first Camp Millhouse
‘First Fridays’ event! Mark your calendars for Friday
September 2nd! From 6:00– 8:30 pm, campers and a
guest may join us for dinner and a special activity
and you won’t want to miss out! We plan to watch a
movie in our pool! So bring your appetites and your
bathing suits. If your camper would like to swim, you
must accompany them in the water. If your camper
does not want to swim, they may still sit in the pool
area and enjoy the movie, but you must accompany
them as well. There is no charge, but you must
register for this event no later than Friday August
26th. We will require that a minimum of 10 people
total register for the event, or we will have to cancel
and will notify those already registered. Please
contact the office for additional information! We hope
to see you there!

We would like to give a very
special thank you to the
Greene Township Lions Club
for donating their time and
talents every Tuesday
evening and bringing out
their infamous train for our
campers to ride each week!
We always look forward to
Tuesday evenings!
Q: What are your plans for Saturday November 5th?
A: Attending the Camp Millhouse Trivia Night!
Gather a group of trivia buffs together and join us! The
event will be held at ZB Falcons (323 S. Sheridan Street
South Bend, IN 46619) on Saturday November 5th and
you better bring your A-game! The doors open at 5:45
and trivia begins at 6:30. The cost will be $10.00 per
person. Teams may consist of no more than 10 people,
and partial tables are allowed. There will be a silent
auction and a cash bar available, but attendees must
bring their own food. All proceeds from the evening will
benefit Camp Millhouse! To register your team, or to
learn more about this exciting event, please contact the

We chose Dr.Seuss as the theme for our 2016 summer, and are
eager to share the design of our camper shirts with you! The front of
the camper shirt features the iconic Dr.Seuss ABC book cover with
the words “Abilities are Boundless at Camp” and the back of the
shirt features his famous quote, ‘Why fit in when you were born to
stand out?’ The shirts were a hit and our campers loved receiving
them at the end of each fun filled camp week!
