Justice Board Data

At a series of events and meetings, as part of a process of engagement with the
profession, the Board has presented supplementary data relevant to the local area for
each event. At our final event we presented data on the change in local average
solicitor firm fee income over time, and the change at individual firm level. We are
now making that information available for each area. Click on the links to access this
information for each area.
Each area has three charts.
Chart 1 is the average solicitor firm fee income over time per area. This includes all
firm fee income as solicitors for criminal legal assistance in any court. It is assigned to
the area where the firm has their head office.
Chart 2 is each firm assigned to an area as per chart 1. This chart compares the
income of each firm in 2007-08 to that firm’s income in 2012-13. This chart will show
the degree of change in each area as firms change and new firms appear.
Chart 3 is based on thee same data as used in Chart 2. In this chart firms are ranked
in order of income such that the top earning firm in 2007-08 is compared to the top
earning firm in 2012-13. This chart shows the net effect on firms in the area.
Figures for expenditure for 2012-13 are provisional at this stage.
