Around the World
Practice
Players must touch their own body part following a
command from the leader.
Organisation
Players are in pairs, facing each other on either side of
the centre zone. The leader call out a body part and
player must touch their own body part. When the leader
shouts ball the first player to grab the cone is the winner.
Safety
Keep a safe distance between the players – use the
centre zone
Never lead with the head when reaching down for the
ball
Making it harder/easier
Increase the players distance from the centre zone

Starting Out
Practice
Players must race into the dead ball zone ahead of their
partner.
Organisation
Players are in pairs on opposite end lines facing each
other. On the command, players race into the middle and
must stop before the centre zone.
Safety
Lead with hands rather than head
Maintain a safe distance between players
Eyes up at all times

Making it harder/easier
Add or take the ball away
Change the size of the ball
Increase/decrease the distance away from the centre
zone
Condition the movements, for example running, skipping,
jumping
Change the starting position, for example press up, lying
down, sat down

Foxes & Hounds
Practice
On the command players must try and reach the
attacking line before being tagged by their partner
Organisation
Players are in pairs and opposite each other on either
side of the centre zone. One side are foxes and one side
are hounds. On the command foxes must try and reach
the attacking line whilst being pursued by their partner
who is trying to tag them.
Safety
Players stop before the wall
Tags on the shoulder only, could incorporate a bib

Making it harder/easier
Players must try and hit their opponent with a dodgeball
situated in the centre zone
Change the distance
Change the movement, for example side steps or running
backwards
Change the way players start, for example sitting down,
lying face down, press up position

Over & Under
Practice
The ball must be passed in relay fashion over head and
through legs from back to front of the line. The game is
finished when all players have been at the front of the
line.
Organisation
Two teams line up in single file with a ball at the front of
the line. The ball must be passed down the line to the
end player following the sequence over the head and
then through the legs. Once the ball reaches the end
player they must run with the ball to the front of the line.
Once all players have been at the front of the line the
game ends.

Safety
Keep a safe distance between teams and players
When players are running from back to front be aware of
team mates
Stand up straight and don’t hyperextend the back when
going overhead

Increase the distance between players
Change the movement of the ball, for example side to
side or through legs only

Dodge in the Mud
Practice
Throwers must throw a dodgeball and hit all dodging
players, making them stuck in the mud.
Organisation
Two players are nominated as throwers, other players are
dodgers. Throwers must stay on the spot when they’re in
possession of a dodgeball and must attempt to hit all
dodgers making them stuck in the mud. Once a player is
stuck they must remain on the spot and can only be
released by a dodger who must stand in front and do the
dodgeball call signal, two slaps on the thighs followed by
the cobra hands.

Chain Dodge
Practice
Players must avoid being hit by dodging the ball.
Organisation
The game starts with one thrower who must remain on
the spot when in possession of a dodgeball. All other
players attempt to dodge.
Safety
No head shots
Throwing players can only throw when they are at least
2m away from a dodger
Have a set number of balls regardless of how many
throwers there are
