to digging shall obligate the Contractor for any damages to participating utility company facilities and associated repair costs thereto The Contractor will hold the City harmless for any and all damages to existing utilities that occur during work e Tree Protection The Contractor shall be responsible for protecting all trees near the construction site If there is necessary tree removal or limb removal notification to the city must occur first SECTION 3 SCOPE OF WORK 1 General 3 The contractor will rebuild the outfield with properly functioning drainage irrigation and Bermuda 419 sod install a new center field fence construct a 12 wide x 55 long x 12 high professional batting cage with electrical power supply for batting cage area install adequate batting cage area lighting remove existing small backstop and replace with larger backstop spanning between the existing dugouts install new bleachers and construct shade structures over bleachers install homerun netting on left field perimeter fence and construct two practice pitching mounds and plates on each side of the field 2 Scope of Construction Work 3 1 Outfield The outfield will be reconstruction to match the existing recently reconstructed Bermuda 419 grass infield The outfield will need to be graded properly to connect with existing infield grade and allow proper outfield drainage After proper grading leveling and irrigation the outfield will have quality Bermuda 419 sod installed All sod installation shall meet COAB and COJ Standards Two 10 minimum height foul poles will be installed on each line The field shall look tournament playable upon completion 2 Irrigation The baseball field currently has an effectively functioning irrigation system with water supplied by a well and functioning control devices The irrigation system for the whole field was upgraded during the infield construction project capable of producing 35 gpm @ 40 psi for the whole field Irrigation functionality must be maintained upon outfield reconstruction It will be up to the contractor to determine what can be salvaged and reused in the existing irrigation system during outfield construction and what will need to be replaced The new outfield fence will also affect how the existing irrigation will have to be modified Proper design will need to be incorporated to produce an effective result 3 Fence and Gate The contractor will install 350 of 4 high Chain Zink fence 200 from home plate matching the existing fence at the ball field Top rail will be 1 5 8O D Line posts will be 2 O D set 10 on center maximum spacing with 8 diameter concrete footing at 24 depth Terminal post will be 3 D schedule 40 pipe with 10 diameter concrete footing at 24 depth Fabric will be 9 GA 2 mesh O chain link fabric Tension wire will be 6 GA The new fence will be abutted and properly connected with the existing perimeter fence on the left and right field side lines One 6 wide gate will be installed down the left field line for access to the field The gate posts will 3 O D schedule 40 pipe Gate posts will be installed with concrete footing of 12 diameter and 36 depth The gate will have 1 5 8 tubing Fence and gate installation shall meet COAB and COJ Standards Cage shall be set on cement pad 3 5 thick 3000 psi truck delivered concrete Pad shall be covered with ST3300PD 5MM padded turf 12 wide face weight 4 Batting Cage 12 wide is 34 oz plus an x 55 long x 12 high additional 5mm foam pad pile height is 1 2 Turf shall be installed permanently on the cement by manufacturer recommendations 4 6 5 8 x 17 sch 40 post shall be set as corner post in a 24 x 5 foundation with cement foundation 6 4 x 16 sch40 post shall be set to support cross cables All open end post shall be capped Side and end cables shall run to 6 5 8 post with cross cables going across to 4 post Net shall be secured with steel hog rings on side and end cables Cables shall run under net on cross cables Net shall have one entrance Net shall be 36 gauge nylon weather treated baseball netting Netting shall be suitable for commercial use Any grading necessary for the pad shall be included in price All concrete work shall meet COAB and COJ Standards 5 Electrical Power Service to Batting Cage Area There shall be f lu ef electrical services run to the batting cage area There is an electrical panel with adequate capability for additional services located at the bathroom at the field A 20 amp dedicated r lilt with vandal resistant GFI duplex will be run to the batting cage A separate dedicated 20 amp circuit will also be run to the area to be used in the future to power an electric scoreboard 6 Batting Cage Area Lighting The contractor shall install commercial LED area flood overhead lighting to adequately light up batting cage as well as provide proper lighting to and from the batting cage area A 20 amp circuit to operate 2 LED pole mounted batting cage lights to supply lighting directly to batting area and 2 LED pole mounted areasecurity lights for area outside the batting cage The batting cage lights and area lights will be fitted with separate secure timers The existing backstop will need to be removed and disposed of appropriately A new larger and wider backstop made of the same gauge fence fabric will be installed to give protection from dugout to dugout Specifications will be supplied at the Pre Bid meeting The backstop will be a 20 vertical height with 20 width in center with 20 wide wings on the sides This will require large concrete 7 Backstop footers It shall be constructed using strong and durable 6 gauge galvanized 10 chain link stretched on the bottom and 9 gauge galvanized 10 high chain Zink layered across the top The posts will be galvanized 4 OD and the horizontal rails will be 1 5 8 That will leave approximately 24 48 total to each dugout to be fenced connecting to the backstop with durable 6 gauge galvanized 10 chain link stretched 8 New Bleacher and Shade Covers The contractor shall supply a second bleacher that is similar to the bleacher that is currently at the facility to be placed next to right field dugout The bleacher shall be set on a 3 thick 3000 psi concrete pad Shade structures will need to be installed to shade the bleachers Permits may need to be applied for through the city in order to meet code Shade structures may require plans and specifications 9 Homerun netting The contractor shall install a left field homerun net black 1 inch mesh 15 feet high along the old left field perimeter fence from left field foul line to just past the light pole 100 to contain balls from leaving the property 10 Practice Pitching Facilities The contractor shall construct two 2 practice pitching areas to meet ABAA youth league standards for a 60 and 70 mound setup on
